The Armstrong Nugget is a gold nugget that was found June 19, 1913, by George Armstrong, at a placer mine near Susanville in Grant County, Oregon, United States. [1] The nugget weighs 80.4 ounces.
Today the nugget can be seen in a gold mining display at the U.S. Bank in Baker City.
The Denver Nuggets are an American professional basketball team based in Denver. The Nuggets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league's Western Conference Northwest Division. Blair Allen Rasmussen is a retired American professional basketball player who was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 1985 NBA Draft. A 7'0" center from the University of Oregon, Rasmussen played in eight seasons in the NBA from 1985 to 1993. He played for the Nuggets from 1985 to 1991 and for the Atlanta Hawks from 1991 to 1993. Rasmussen's best year as a pro came during the 1990–91 season as a member of the Nuggets, when he appeared in 70 games, and averaged 12.5 points per game and 1.9 blocks per game.

Sisters State Park is a state park located at the southeast side of the town of Sisters in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. The park property is bisected by U.S. Route 20 and Oregon Route 126, creating three separate parcels. The park covers 28 acres (11 ha) of undeveloped forest land along Whychus Creek. Elwood was a sternwheel steamboat which was built to operate on the Willamette River, in Oregon, but which later operated on the Lewis River in Washington, the Stikine River in Canada, and on Puget Sound. The name of this vessel is sometimes seen spelled "Ellwood". Elwood is probably best known for an incident in 1893, when it was approaching the Madison Street Bridge over the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. The bridge swung open to allow the steamer to pass. However, a streetcar coming in from the east end of the bridge failed to notice the bridge was open, and ran off into the river in the Madison Street Bridge disaster.
