The Art Institute of Tampa is a private for-profit art school in Tampa, Florida. It opened in 2004 as the 30th location within The Art Institutes system of schools. All Art Institute schools will close on September 30, 2023. [1]

The Art Institute of Tampa is a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, [2] which is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). [3]

Culinary program

The Art Institute of Tampa's culinary program garnered much attention. In 2006, its culinary students and staff volunteered to create the menu, make a budget, and prepare and serve the food for a Pinellas County Habitat for Humanity charity event called Building Dreams. [4] In 2007, articles in the St. Petersburg Times indicated that the school had been a sponsor of the Best Teen Chef competition. [5]

According to the College Navigator, the school has an overall graduation rate of 22 percent. [6]

The Orlando Culinary Academy (OCA) was a culinary and hospitality training school and an affiliate of Le Cordon Bleu Schools North America. The Academy was established in January 2002 and was located in Orlando, Florida. OCA is a branch campus of the International Academy of Design and Technology's Tampa division. In July 2007, the Orlando Culinary Academy was named College of the Year by the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges Conference. All US Le Cordon Bleu College locations closed in 2017.

Founded in 1965 as the Houston School of Commercial Art, the school joined The Art Institutes system of schools in 1978 and moved to its current facility in 1990.
