Bezdonys Manor is a former residential manor near Bezdonys, Vilnius district in Lithuania. [1] [2]

History

The manor is known from the 15th century, when, according to Jan Długosz, the Grand Duke of Lithuania Jogaila visited the manor in 1415.

Norviliškės Castle is a Renaissance style castle in Norviliškės, Lithuania. The Norviliškės Castle is first mentioned in 1586. In 1617 the owners donated part of the real estate land to Franciscans. Around 1745 they built a monastery and a church in Renaissance style. The monastery was reconstructed at the end of the 18th century by Kazimieras Kaminskis. After the November Uprising of 1831, Russian authorities closed the monastery and turned it into barracks for soldiers, and later to a boarding school for girls. The Church of St. Mary Compassionate Mother was closed at the same time as the monastery. A new wooden church was built in 1929.

Tuskulėnai Manor is a neoclassical manor in Žirmūnai elderate of Vilnius, Lithuania. It is best known as burial grounds of people executed by the KGB in 1944–1947. After Lithuania regained independence in 1990, the manor was reconstructed and the park was transformed into a memorial to the victims of Soviet repressions. It is administered by the Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Center.

Bezdonys is a town in Lithuania, located to the north of Vilnius, within the Vilnius district municipality. It is best known for the 1908 Bezdany raid, one of the most daring and successful train robberies in history. According to the Lithuanian census of 2011, the town had 743 inhabitants.

Liubavas Manor is located in Liubavas, in the northern part of Vilnius, in a picturesque area by the River Žalesa. Till our days there are 11 buildings, a system of terrace ponds and plantation in Liubavas manor homestead left. Under the initiative of sculptor Gintaras Karosas, Liubavas Manor Museum was established in 2011. In 2016 the 18th century Liubavas Manor Baroque architectural ensemble – officine (treasure) and orangery was restored and adapted to the museum. In 2018 the manor house bridge with a section of stone boulders was restored. The stone paved road of Liubavas manor leads from Bireliai to Liubavas manor. In 2012 Liubavas Manor Watermill Museum has been awarded the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award as an excellent example of a fine and sophisticated restoration. The Museum of History, Cultural and Technical Heritage of Liubavas Manor is open on weekends from April 15 to October 15.

Merkinė Manor was a residential manor in Merkinė village, Šalčininkai District Municipality, Lithuania. It was the location of the self-proclaimed Paulava Republic, established by Paweł Ksawery Brzostowski in 1769. In 1770 Brzostowski hired Italian architect Carlo Spampani to build a new manor building in Neoclassical style. The building remained intact until after World War II, when it became a part of a sovkhoz, a Soviet-era farmstead. According to art historian Vladas Drėma, the manor was destroyed when one of the sovkhoz directors set fire to it to hide the traces of his grain thievery. Only ruins remained and the manor has not been rebuilt since, however, the area around it has been cleaned up and turned into a minor tourist attraction, with a memorial stone to commemorate the manor and the Paulava Republic.
