Ascent Flight Training is a trusted provider of innovative training systems. Since 2008, it has delivered bespoke training for the UK's Armed Services through the UK Military Flight Training System (UKMFTS). A Joint Venture between Lockheed Martin and Babcock International it designs, develops and delivers training to pilots and aircrew from the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Army Air Corps, as part of a public-private partnership. [3] It also provides training to international aircrew, and training support to companies in the power and emergency services industries.
Ascent was selected to modernise training under a £3.2 billion UKMFTS contract over 25 years - until 2033 - training military aircrew up to their respective Operational Conversion Units. [4] It operates a fleet of 110 aircraft and over 100 simulators at six modern training centres, producing hundreds of next-generation combat leaders for FTUs/OCUs each year.
