Astley Bridge railway station served the village of Astley Bridge, England, from 1877 to 1879 on the Astley Branch Railway.
In 1871, the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway was authorised to build a branch line from Bolton to Astley Bridge, where it would serve a large business population. It was to leave the Bolton–Blackburn line at a junction on Tonge Viaduct named Astley Bridge Junction, about 74 chains (1.5 km) from the junction at Bolton station. There were to be two stations on the branch, an intermediate goods station at Halliwell and the terminus at Astley Bridge, 1 mile 184 yards (1.778 km) from Astley Bridge Junction. Construction began in 1874, and progress was slow: goods trains began running as far as Halliwell in February 1876; the line was completed in June 1877 but not opened until 15 October 1877. The station opened to passengers that day, and there was a service of nine trains per day in each direction. 83 passengers were carried on the first day, but within two years, many trains carried no passengers at all. As a result, it was a short-lived station, closing to passengers on 1 October 1879. The station remained open for goods, and Astley Bridge became a coal yard. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Entwistle railway station is 5+3⁄4 miles (9.3 km) north of Bolton and serves the village of Entwistle. It is also the closest station to Edgworth. Unlike nearby Bromley Cross the station lies outside the Transport for Greater Manchester boundary, meaning that passengers cannot take advantage of their special offers and ticketing. Owing to the remote location and low passenger numbers, Entwistle has been a request stop for several years, however since 21st May 2023, it is no longer a request stop, and all trains stop here. It is served by Northern services on the Ribble Valley line towards Blackburn and Clitheroe in England.

Pendleton railway station was a railway station serving Pendleton, a district of Salford. It was located on Broughton Road (A576) just behind St. Thomas' Church. It was about 100 yards further up Broughton Road from Pendleton Bridge railway station and nearer Pendleton Church and Broad Street (A6). This station was known as Pendleton Broad Street due to its closeness to the A6 Broad Street some 100 yards away. It was on the Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate line with a spur to the Manchester Victoria to Bolton line so trains to Bolton used it after the closure of Pendleton Bridge in 1966, and "Broad Street" was then dropped from its name.
Maudland Bridge railway station was once the Preston terminus of the Longridge Branch Line, in Lancashire, England. It was located on Maudland Road, between a bridge over the Lancaster Canal and Cold Bath Street. The Maudlands district of Preston gets its name from the medieval St. Mary Magdalen's leper hospital, which once stood near the present-day St Walburge's Church.

The Lancashire Union Railway ran between Blackburn and St Helens in Lancashire, England. It was built primarily to carry goods between Blackburn and Garston Dock on the River Mersey, and also to serve collieries in the Wigan area. Most of the line has now been closed, except for the St Helens-to-Wigan section that forms part of the main line between Liverpool and the North.
Bolton Great Moor Street railway station was the first station in Bolton. It was opened on 11 June 1831 by the Bolton and Leigh Railway.
Spring Vale railway station was a railway station that served the community of Spring Vale, in Darwen, Lancashire, England. It was opened by the Bolton, Blackburn, Clitheroe and West Yorkshire Railway on 3 August 1847, and was originally named Sough. At first, it was the southern terminus of the line from Blackburn ; the line south of Sough to Bolton opened on 12 June 1848 and was just located south of the road bridge at the top off Cranberry Lane The station was moved 150 yards north and was renamed Spring Vale and Sough in November 1870, and Spring Vale on 1 March 1877. It was closed on 5 August 1958, two days after nearby Lower Darwen. It achieved noteworthiness when, on the night of 25 September 1931, Mahatma Gandhi alighted from a train there to spend the night with a local family whilst visiting England to see the effects of his cotton making campaign on the British textile industry.

Atherton Bag Lane railway station served the town of Atherton, Lancashire, England. It was located on the Bolton and Leigh Railway line which ran from Bolton Great Moor Street to Leigh Station and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and later to Kenyon Junction.

Westleigh or West Leigh was a station in Leigh, Greater Manchester, England on the Bolton and Leigh Railway line. Westleigh was situated within the historic county of Lancashire. Its station opened in 1831 and closed in 1954.
Chequerbent railway station was in Westhoughton to the south-west of Bolton, Greater Manchester, on a deviation of the original Bolton Great Moor St to Kenyon Junction line. The station replaced an earlier station on the original line of the railway that had been served by a stationary engine. It was open from 1885 until 1952 for passengers and 1965 for freight.
Bolton Crook Street passenger station was a purely temporary facility within the Bolton Crook Street goods yard, devised by the LNWR for use while their nearby Great Moor Street station was demolished and rebuilt. It was used as such from August 1871 to September 1874, after which it reverted to use solely for goods.
