Athuru Mithuru is a preschool education paper in Sri Lanka which prints in Sinhala language monthly. Athuru Mithuru is the most popular preschool education paper in Sri Lanka which runs according to the pre-school curriculum.[ citation needed ] It is published by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House), a government-owned company. The education paper commenced publishing on 1 May 2012. Athuru Mithuru is written as a tabloid size, with colorful drawings. It includes preschool activities, drawings, poems, stories and competitions.
The current editor-in-chief of the paper is Anoma Gangoda while Gunapala Jayalath is the sub-editor. The circulation is close to 100,000 and sales are managed by Dinesh De Alwis. Athuru Mithuru is distributed to the entire island by the Lake House Circulation Department headed by Sunil Sendanayake.

The newspaper commenced publishing in 1909. It was founded by the Sinhalese scholar H. S. Perera who acted as both owner and editor-in-chief of the paper at the outset. Upon Perera's death in December 1914, D. R. Wijewardena bought out the company. It is now owned by the government of Sri Lanka.

Royal College is a selective entry boys' school located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Started as a private school by Rev Joseph Marsh in 1835, it was established as the Colombo Academy by Sir Robert Wilmot-Horton in January 1836, the first government-run secondary school for boys in the island.

Yal Devi is a major express train in Sri Lanka. Operated by Sri Lanka Railways, the Yal Devi connects Colombo, the nation's commercial hub, with the northern cities of Jaffna and Kankesanturai. Modeled after the Oxford Gazette, the Sri Lanka Gazette is the oldest surviving newspaper in Sri Lanka, having been published continuously since 1802. Unlike other newspapers, it does not cover general news or have a large circulation. It is printed by the Department of Government Printing.

The Ceylonese was an English-language newspaper in Ceylon founded by P. Ramanathan and other leading figures. The newspaper started on 5 March 1913 with Americans H. H. Marcus as manager and Tom Wright as editor. The paper was based at Tichborne Hall, Tichborne Avenue in Maradana, Colombo. The paper's other directors included Hector Alfred Jayewardene and Francis de Zoysa. The paper was editorially nationalistic and was run like an American newspaper, a contrast to other Ceylonese papers which were run according to the British model.
