Alice is a 1988 surrealist dark fantasy film written and directed by Jan Švankmajer. Its original Czech title is Něco z Alenky, which means "Something from Alice". It is a loose adaptation of Lewis Carroll's first Alice book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), about a girl who chases a white rabbit into a bizarre fantasy land. Alice is played by Kristýna Kohoutová. The film combines live-action with stop-motion animation, and is distinguished by its dark production design.

Sheila Carter is a fictional character from The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, American soap operas on the CBS network. Created by William J. Bell, the role was introduced in 1990 — by Edward J. Scott — under the portrayal of Kimberlin Brown, who originally portrayed the role from 1990 to 1992 on The Young and the Restless, although she continued to make guest appearance until 1995. From 1992 to 1998, Brown played the role on The Bold and the Beautiful, returning for stints in 2002 and 2003, before returning to The Young and the Restless from 2005 to January 2006. That same year, Michelle Stafford took over the role after Sheila had plastic surgery to look like Phyllis Summers. The movie centers on three moms attempting to get away and have a nice night out together and the pandemonium that ensues as everyone's plans go awry. The film was shot in Birmingham, Alabama, and, though it experienced an overall negative reception, grossed $10.5 million.
On 3 June 1991, 21 year old Alison Shaughnessy was stabbed to death in the stairwell of her flat near Clapham Junction station. Shaughnessy was newly married, but her husband was having an affair with a 20-year-old woman, Michelle Taylor. A witness reported seeing two women running from Shaughnessy's building after the murder, and fingerprints found at the scene matched Michelle and her sister Lisa Taylor, who claimed never to have been there. Michelle's diary included an entry reading "my dream solution would be for Alison to disappear, as if she never existed".
