Aud Folkestad (born 10 February 1953) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party.
She was a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Møre og Romsdal during the term 1997–2001. In total she met during 8 days of parliamentary session.
Aud the Deep-Minded, also known as Unn, Aud Ketilsdatter or Unnur Ketilsdottir, was a 9th-century settler during the age of Settlement of Iceland. SS Aud was a 1,102 gross register tons (GRT) Norwegian steamboat, built in 1907 in Bergen, Norway, by Bergen Mekaniske Verksted for J. Kuhnle, Jr. During World War I, she was stopped and searched on 30 November 1916 by SM UB-18 at 50°19′N5°33′W when sailing from Cardiff, Wales, to Lisbon, Portugal, with a load of coal. UB-18′s commanding officer, Claus Lafrenz, declared the cargo contraband and sank the ship after putting the crew in the lifeboats. Captain Andreas Stehen and his men were later picked up by the Spanish steamer SS Alu Mendi, home-ported at Bilbao, Spain, which had also been stopped and searched by UB-18 but released. They returned to Norway unharmed.
Folkestad Chapel is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Fjaler Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Våge in extreme western Fjaler. It is an annex chapel in the Fjaler parish which is part of the Sunnfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden chapel was built in a long church design in 1913 by master builder Gerhard Folkestad. It was originally built as a prayer house (bedehus).
