Aughintober Pipe Band is a pipe band from Castlecaulfield in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

History

The band was originally a flute ensemble, but changed to a pipe band in 1949. [1] [2]

In 1997, the band registered with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association to enter competitions. [2]

After the 2009 season, the band was upgraded from Grade 3A to Grade 2, [3] having been upgraded from 3B to 3A in 2006. [4]

The pipe major of the band is Gary Waterson, and the leading drummer Stephen Young. [5]

City of Whitehorse Pipe Band

The City of Whitehorse (CoWPB) is a grade one pipe band, based in Nunawading, Victoria, Australia. The band's previous incarnations had been successful on the Australian Pipe Band competition circuit for numerous years, and was placed 11th in the final tables of the World Pipe Band Championships in 2006. The band reformed in 2014 and was led by Pipe Major George Shepherd and Drum Sergeant Olav Goud. The band ceased operations in 2016 following the decision of Pipe Bands Australia to terminate the band's membership following a protracted period of behaviour deemed unacceptable by the association

The St. Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band is a Grade 1 pipe band based in Maynooth, Ireland. The band was established in 1910, and won the RSPBA World Pipe Band Championships in 2010.

The World Pipe Band Championships is a pipe band competition held in Glasgow, Scotland. The World Pipe Band Championships as we currently know them have been staged since 1947 although the Grade 1 Pipe Band Competition winners at the annual Cowal Highland Gathering were recognised as World Champions as far back as 1906. Although titled "The World Pipe Band Championship" this designation was made by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) without consulting any other Pipe Band Association. Even though bands around the world compete the vast majority of bands that enter are from the United Kingdom. For competitive bands, the title of World Champion is highly coveted, and this event is seen as the culmination of a year's worth of preparation, rehearsal and practice. There are no qualifications to enter, bands do not have to enter or win any other competitions. The only requirement is the band is a member of the RSPBA or a Pipe Band Association recognized by the RSPBA

Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums American pipe band

Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums is a pipe band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They have been honored to play for The Black Watch, share a stage with Rod Stewart, play the half time show for the Cincinnati Bengals, and perform at the Cincinnati Celtic Festival since it started in the early 1990s. The band has led the Cincinnati St. Patrick’s Day parade since at least 1969. Their big event each year is the annual Tartan Day Cèilidh held in conjunction with National Tartan Day in early April.
