The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is a public co-educational university spread over four campuses and made up of six schools, ten research centers located at Greenhill in Accra, Ghana. The location of GIMPA, Greenhill, was named by Nicholas T. Clerk who served as the Rector of the Institute from 1977 to 1982. The name, "Greenhill", is a reference to the lush greenery and hilly topography of the main campus, as well as its location in Legon which was historically on the periphery of the Ghanaian capital, Accra. Together with 200 state institutions, GIMPA successfully participated in a Public Sector Reform Programme under the auspices of the World Bank and became a self-financing institution as part of the National Institutional Reform Programme in 2001. It was established as a public university by an Act of Parliament in 2004. The institute was established in 1961 by the Government of Ghana with assistance from the United Nations Special Fund Project and was initially called the Institute of Public Administration, intended as a specialist training graduate school for civil servants in Ghana. Today, GIMPA offers bachelor's, master's and executive master's degree programmes in business administration, entrepreneurship, law, public administration, development management, governance, leadership and technology.

Efiewura also spelled Ofiwura, Ofiewura is a popular Ghanaian television sitcom that airs on TV3 Ghana, in the Akan language. The series focused on how landlords treat tenants and the relationship that exist between tenant. It started in 2001, and is still in production, making it the longest running show in the country. It has won several local television awards.

Margaret Quainoo (1941-2006), also known as Araba Stamp, was a Ghanaian actress and entertainer. She featured in the classic film I Told You So of 1970 and in the Efiewura television series. She plated at numerous concert parties and in many movie performances in Ghana. She dropped out of school and joined the Brigade Drama Group at Nungua, a suburb in Accra.

John Evans Kwadwo Bosompem (1940–2002) also professionally known Santo or Bob Santo was a Ghanaian comedian and actor. He featured in movies speaking Akan. He usually acted with his close compatriot, Judas.

Belinda Naa Ode Oku is a Ghanaian actress popularly known in showbiz as "Adwoa Smart". She was born at Abossey Okai, a suburb of Accra in Ghana. Adwoa has acted in numerous movies and drama episodes over several decades. She was very popular and highly sought after during the heyday of Akan drama from 1980 to the year 2000 and beyond. She has also featured in several music videos. Adwoa came into prominence as a cast member of the long-running Akan drama series "Obra" (Life) which aired on GTV during the 80s and 90s.

Key Soap Concert Party was a popular comedy shows on TV from the mid 1990s to the early 2000s. The comedy show which was aired on Ghana Broadcasting Corporation's station, GTV featured the likes of Kofi Adu, Nkomode, Samuel Kwadwo Boaben and Araba Stamp.
