Aurora Airlines was a charter airline based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It operated several flights a week between the biggest cities of Germany to Kosovo. It had hubs at Pristina, Kosovo, and Maribor, Slovenia. The company operated for defunct airline Airkosova, and had one of its aircraft painted in Air Kosova livery.

The fleet consisted of three McDonnell Douglas MD-82 and one McDonnell Douglas MD-83. [2]

One of the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft with registration number S5-ACC was purchased by the Letalski center Maribor for the purpose of the exhibition: Letališka cesta 30, Miklavž na Dravskem polje and is parked on the sports side of Maribor Airport and is available for visitors.

On 30 September 2019, the airline declared bankruptcy and ceased all operations.

McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Jet airliner, next generation series based on the DC-9

The McDonnell Douglas MD-80 is a series of single-aisle airliners developed by McDonnell Douglas from the DC-9. Stretched, heavier, and with higher bypass Pratt & Whitney JT8D-200 engines, the DC-9 Series 80 was launched in October 1977. It made its first flight on October 18, 1979 and was certified on August 25, 1980. It was delivered to launch customer Swissair on September 13, 1980, which introduced it into commercial service on October 10, 1980.

The airline was established in the autumn of 2003 by the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) and the Kosovo Government.
