The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is the largest professional project management institute in the Australasian region.

Certifications

The RegPM ("Registered Project Manager") is AIPM's project management certification program. Candidates who undertake the program are required to compile and show evidence that displays their competence in Project Management methodologies. The award is given at one of four levels. [1]

Competence Based Assessment

The candidate undertaking the RegPM program must fully understand, and be competent in, all components of a project, program or Portfolio life-cycle. [2] They must show this based around their current and previous workplace experiences. [3] Accreditation or certification for the levels requires the completion of an Assessment Record Book (ARB). The Completion of the ARB consists of answering many questions on Project, Program or Portfolio Management theory which also requires the candidate to provide a logbook of evidence supporting their level of competence. [4]

AIPM is organised into regional sub-organisations known as Chapters, in each Australian state and territory. These have their own organisational leadership, elected by members in that jurisdiction, and the chapters conduct meetings and focused study groups (Community of Practice meetings) with specialist speakers.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Global professional organization

Founded in 1904, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA) is the global professional accounting body offering the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification (ACCA). It has 233,000 members and 536,000 future members worldwide. ACCA's headquarters are in London with principal administrative office in Glasgow. ACCA works through a network of over 110 offices and centres in 51 countries - with 346 Approved Learning Partners (ALP) and more than 7,600 Approved Employers worldwide, who provide employee development. The ACCA also works in India, China and Pakistan.

The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is the American Planning Association's professional institute. AICP certifies professionals in the United States in the field of urban planning and assists planners in the areas of ethics, professional development, planning education, and the standards of planning practice. Members of AICP pledge to adhere to a detailed Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Once certified, professional planners may place the designation "AICP" after their name to indicate their membership in AICP, and their mastery of the principles, skills, knowledge, and experience determined by the organization as essential for a professional planner.

The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is a professional certification mark for financial planners conferred by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in the United States, and by 25 other organizations affiliated with Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), the owner of the CFP mark outside of the United States. The certification is not a government designation, nor an accredited degree, but is managed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. which was founded in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Institute of Public Accountants

The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) is one of the three legally recognised professional bodies for accountants in Australia. The IPA represents more than 40,000 members and students working in industry, commerce, government, academia and professional practice.

The Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) sets standards for academic program accreditation, personal certification and professional development for educators and industry professionals involved in integrating technology, leadership and design. Its primary mission is faculty, students and industry professionals dedicated to solving complex technological problems and developing the competitive technologist and applied engineering workforce.

AACE International was founded in 1956 by 59 cost estimators and cost engineers during the organizational meeting of the American Association of Cost Engineering at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. AACE International Headquarters is located in Morgantown, West Virginia, USA. AACE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional association. AACE International is a member of the Board of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB).

Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) is a global finance designation offered by the Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA) to financial professionals; candidates may be financial analysts, portfolio managers or investment advisors.

As the field of finance has increased in complexity in recent years, the number of available designations has grown, and, correspondingly, some will have more recognition than others. The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) is a non-profit and non-governmental, professional association serving the construction management industry. The Association was formed in 1982. CMAA has 29 regional chapters.

The Certified Public Manager (CPM) is a United States professional designation established in 1979 for the purpose of improving performance and advancing best practice standards for public sector managers. The CPM is a comprehensive management development program based upon a selected set of competencies. They are administered by the Universal Accreditation Board.

P3O stands for Portfolio, Programme and Projects Offices. P3O is universally applicable guidance published by AXELOS to help organisations build support structures that enable the successful delivery of their portfolios of change programmes and projects. P3O describes the factors that influence designing and building the right structures to optimize:

  1. Senior management decision making: P3O informs senior management on decisions that include strategic alignment, prioritization, risk management and use of resources.
  2. Business outcomes and benefits: P3O ensures the identification and realization of business outcomes and benefits via programmes and projects.
  3. Delivery of project outputs: P3O plays an integral part in delivering projects within time, cost and quality constraints.
International Council of Management Consulting Institutes

The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) has since 1987 been the professional body worldwide for management consultants. ICMCI since 2013 is called CMC-Global.

Recreational scuba certification levels are the levels of skill represented by recreational scuba certification. Each certification level is associated with a specific training standard published by the certification agency, and a training programme associated with the standard., though in some cases recognition of prior learning can apply.
