BBGM is an American architecture and interior design firm. It is based in Washington, DC, and employs about 50 architects and interior designers. It specializes in the design of hotel, office and large residential buildings. [1]

History

In the 1990s the firm began work on hotel projects, including renovation of the St. Regis Hotel, the Sheraton Center and the Sheraton City Square in New York City, and the Hamilton Crowne Plaza, the Omni Shoreham Hotel, the Hay-Adams Hotel, and the Sofitel Lafayette Square renovations in Washington, D.C. [2] By 2004 the firm had worked on almost forty hotels in the D.C. area. [2]

In 1994, BBGM took part in designing the expansion for The Peninsula Hong Kong,[ citation needed ] and has also worked on projects in China, [3] the United Arab Emirates, [4] the Caribbean, Egypt, India, Mexico, Singapore, Russia, Australia, South America, Canada, and the United States. [5]

The company's name was simplified to BBGM in 2013. [6]

In 2015, BBGM merged with Arizona-based luxury hotel design firm Monogram. [7]

The Fairmont Washington, D.C. Georgetown is a luxury Postmodernist-style hotel located at 2401 M Street NW in Washington, D.C., in the United States. The structure, in the West End neighborhood of the city, opened in December 1985 as The Westin Hotel. In December 1989, Westin sold the hotel to All Nippon Airways, which operated it as the ANA Hotel. Lowe Enterprises purchased the hotel in October 1998, and renamed it the Washington Monarch Hotel. A $12 million renovation followed in 1999. Lowe Enterprises sold the hotel to Legacy Hotels Real Estate Investment Trust in October 2002, and Legacy contracted with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts to manage the hotel. Originally an office building known as the Canal Building, it was constructed in 1963, and was the first major new building constructed in Georgetown in 50 years. The structure was purchased by two local real estate development companies in 2008 and converted to a hotel. The renovation won multiple awards. The hotel, branded as and managed by Capella Hotels and Resorts, opened in 2013 as the Cappella Hotel. The developers sold the property to Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, which rebranded the hotel as the Rosewood Washington, D.C in 2016.

Krista Ninivaggi is a New York-based interior designer who primarily works in hospitality design. She is one of the few designers named by Contract Magazine as its Designer of the Year while still in her 30s. During her time at Rockwell Group and AvroKO, she focused on restaurant design, but has since expanded her portfolio to include art design and office spaces.

INC Architecture and Design, PLLC (INC) is an architecture and design studio based in New York City. Notable projects include 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, The Line Hotel DC, and the TWA Hotel. The firm originally operated under the name "Incorporated Architecture and Design," until becoming INC [Architecture and Design] in 2017. The name INC is an acronym, using Latin terms to represent this tripartite leadership and their unique roles within the team, and three aspects vital to design: Iucunditas, for joy; Necessarius, for utility; and Creo, for craft.
