BK Jelgava is a professional basketball club based in Jelgava, Latvia playing in the Latvian Basketball League.
At the end of the 2010–11 season, its predecessor, BK Zemgale, experienced financial difficulties, failure to pay their players and liabilities. As a result, BK Jelgava took their place in the Latvian Basketball League. [1] The new club was created and funded by the city of Jelgava. [2]

The Latvian Football Cup is the main knockout cup competition in Latvian football. Since 2019, its full name is Viensviens Latvian Football Cup due to the sponsorship by sports betting company Viensviens (11.lv). The tournament was launched in 1937, replacing the previous knockout tournament – the Riga Football Cup.
