Babu Baral was a Pakistani stage actor and comedian. Baral started his career as a comedian from Gujranwala in 1982. He was a mimicry expert and could easily sing in legendary singers' voices. Baral had been suffering from cancer, hepatitis and kidney disease, and was being treated at a private hospital in Lahore. He died at the age of 47, leaving behind four children, two daughters and two sons. Baral has done many stage dramas which often made him a sign of comedy. Shartiya Mithay is his one of the most popular stage dramas.

He made his first-class debut for Speen Ghar Region in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament on 20 October 2017.

Ashiyana was a popular 1997 Pakistani drama series which was aired on the Pakistan Television network in 1997. The Story is about orphan siblings and the challenges they face in their life. Despite all their struggles they manage to make their home into a house full of love and life. The series also highlighted the struggle between those living in rural Pakistan who wish to emigrate abroad in the desire for a better life.

Mohammad Tahir Khan Dawar was a Pakistani police officer and Pashto poet who was abducted from Islamabad on October 26, 2018 and then tortured and killed. His body was found on November 13, 2018 by the locals in the Dur Baba District of Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, close to the Torkham border crossing. His postmortem report revealed he had no marks of bullet injury but was rather killed by excessive torture during captivity. He was kept hungry and thirsty for several days, and his legs and arms were broken. He had died a few days before his corpse was found.
