Baburao Narsingrao Kokate (Adaskar) (died 2016) [1] was an Indian politician from Maharashtra and a member of the Indian National Congress. He was elected in 1972 as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra from Kaij [ citation needed ] and also in 1978 from Chausala constituency in Beed district. [2]

He was Finance Minister of India from 1988 to 1989 and served as Home Minister of India in the P. V. Narasimha Rao cabinet from 21 June 1991 to 16 May 1996. He served as Home Minister of India in the Rajiv Gandhi cabinet 31 December 1984 to 12 March 1986.
