The Baco Islands are a chain of three small wooded islands in the Philippines, located off the northern coast of Mindoro island. [1] [2] The Baco Islands are located off the coast of Baco, Oriental Mindoro, in the Verde Island Passage and are administered as part of the city of Calapan. The island chain consists of: [3]

Oriental Mindoro, is a province in the Philippines located on the island of Mindoro under Mimaropa region in Luzon, about 140 kilometres (87 mi) southwest of Manila. The province is bordered by the Verde Island Passage and the rest of Batangas to the north, by Marinduque, Maestre de Campo Island, Tablas Strait and the rest of Romblon to the east, by Semirara and the rest of Caluya Islands, Antique to the south, and by Occidental Mindoro to the west. The Maniguin Island Lighthouse is a lighthouse that marks the Cuyo East Passage, a main shipping route south into the Sulu Sea. The island, also known as Maningning Island or Hammerhead Island, is located 42.6 km off of the coast of Culasi, Antique in the Philippines. It has a narrow ridge 33.5 metres high across its southern end, and the remainder of the island is low and wooded, and not more than 4.5 metres high. It is fringed with coral reefs with deep water at their edges. The round cylindrical concrete tower with a gallery on top is located near the southeastern point of the island.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mounts Iglit–Baco National Park</span>

The Mounts Iglit–Baco National Park is a protected area of the Philippines and an ASEAN Heritage Park located in the island of Mindoro in central Philippines. The park covers an area of 75,445 hectares surrounding Mount Iglit and Mount Baco in the central interior of Mindoro. It was established in 1970 by virtue of Republic Act No. 6148. In 2003, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations listed it as one of its four heritage parks in the Philippines. The park has also been nominated in the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Masin is an island located in the Oriental Mindoro province of the Philippines.

Ambil is an island barangay in the Philippines that covers the island of the same name along with the two other smaller outlying islands of Mandaui and Malavatuan to the northeast. The barangay is administered as part of the municipality of Looc, Occidental Mindoro. The island, which is the 93rd largest island in the Philippines, was formed by a conical mountain that is around 2,461 feet (750 m) in height, Mount Benagongon.

Tajud is a small island in the Philippines located on the north coast of Mindoro island. It is located in the Occidental Mindoro province of the Philippines. Its elevation was recorded at 150 feet (46 m) in 1919.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ambulong</span>

Ambulong is a small island in the Philippines located on the western side of the Ambolon Strait, that separates it from Ilin Island. Ambulong is located in Occidental Mindoro province of the Philippines, part of the municipality of San Jose. In 1919 it was described as "hilly and well wooded", and in 1919 its elevation at the northern part of the island was recorded at 567 feet (173 m).

Jintotolo is an island within the Jintotolo Channel, part of the Province of Masbate, Philippines. It constitutes two barangays of the Municipality of Balud and has a population of 3,574 persons in the 2015 census. 

Liwagao Island, also known as Libago Island or Libagao Island, is an island located southeast off the coast of Mindoro and northwest off Panay. The island is a disputed feature between the towns of Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro and Caluya, Antique with the latter exercising de facto administration over the island.

Jose Protacio Cangco Gozar was a Filipino military aviator and a flight officer of the Philippine Army Air Corps, who was awarded at the outbreak of World War II the Distinguished Service Cross.
