Mainichi Kaasan was also adapted into a live-action film directed by ShōtarōKobayashi,released in theaters in Japan on 5 February 2011. The film starred the real-life divorced couple Kyōko Koizumi and Masatoshi Nagase as the titular kaasan and her husband. It won the Best Film for Asian New Talent Award at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival in 2011. Additionally,Koizumi won the Best Actress Award at the 66th Mainichi Film Awards in 2012 and Nagase won the Best Actor Award at the 20th Japanese Movie Critics Awards.
Kyūkyoku!! Hentai Kamen is a comedy manga series written and illustrated by KeishūAndo. It was originally serialized in the Shueisha shōnen anthology magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1992 to 1993. The series tells the tale of a young martial artist who transforms into a bizarre hero of justice by wearing a pair of panties on his head. A live action film adaptation titled Hentai Kamen was released in 2013. It was followed by a second film,Hentai Kamen:Abnormal Crisis,in 2016.

Hori-san to Miyamura-kun is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroki Adachi,under the pseudonym Hero. It was self-published as a webcomic on Hero's website,Dokkai Ahen,from February 2007 to December 2011 in a four-panel format. The series received a print publication by Square Enix,who compiled the chapters in ten tankōbon volumes under its imprint Gangan Comics from October 2008 to December 2011. Additional side-story chapters were compiled in fifteen volumes from July 2012 to July 2021 as Hori-san to Miyamura-kun Omake.
Cheer Boys!! is a Japanese novel written by RyōAsai,first published on October 5,2010,by Shueisha. It follows the members of a university's all-male cheerleading squad. The novel is loosely based on the real-life men's cheerleading team "Shockers" from Waseda University. The series was also adapted as a manga by Kenichi Kondōfor the Shōnen Jump+ app starting on April 5,2016. An anime adaptation started airing on July 5,2016. It is directed by Ai Yoshimura and written by Reiko Yoshida for the studio Brain's Base. A live action film directed by Hiroki Kazama is slated to open in early 2019.
