Bahram Tavakoli (born 1976) is an Iranian film director and screenwriter. He won a Crystal Simorgh award for his debut film Barefoot in Heaven (2007). [1] [2] Since then, he has released several films that have met with critical acclaim.

Bahman Farmanara is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and film producer. Bahman Farmanara is the second son of a family of four brothers and one sister. The family business was Textile and he was the only son who did not join the company and went off to the United Kingdom and later on to the United States to study acting and directing. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Cinema in 1966. After returning to Iran and doing military service, he joined the National Iranian Radio and Television.

Iranian New Wave refers to a movement in Iranian cinema. It started in 1964 with Hajir Darioush's second film Serpent's Skin, which was based on D.H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover featuring Fakhri Khorvash and Jamshid Mashayekhi. Darioush's two important early social documentaries But Problems Arose in 1965, dealing with the cultural alienation of the Iranian youth, and Face 75, a critical look at the westernization of the rural culture, which was a prizewinner at the 1965 Berlin Film Festival, also contributed significantly to the establishment of the New Wave. In 1968, after the release of Shohare Ahoo Khanoom directed by Davoud Mollapour, The Cow directed by Dariush Mehrjui followed by Masoud Kimiai's Qeysar in 1969, Nasser Taqvai's Tranquility in the Presence of Others, and immediately followed by Bahram Beyzai's Downpour, the New Wave became well established as a prominent cultural, dynamic and intellectual trend. The Iranian viewer became discriminating, encouraging the new trend to prosper and develop.

Here Without Me is an Iranian drama film written and directed by Bahram Tavakoli and produced by Saeed Sadi, produced in 2010 and screened in 2011. The film stars Fatemeh Motamed-Aria, Saber Abar, Negar Javaherian and Parsa Pirouzfar. The story is about a family of three dreaming about their wishes, and was inspired by the play The Glass Menagerie, written by Tennessee Williams. Fatemeh Motamed-Arya won the best actress award in the 35th Montreal World Film Festival for this film.

Amir Jadidi Iranian actor (born 1984)

Amir Jadidi is an Iranian actor and tennis player. He is well known in Iran for his starring roles in Crazy Rook (2015), A Dragon Arrives! (2016), The Lost Strait (2018), Cold Sweat (2018) and Day Zero (2020), whereas he is best known internationally for his role as Rahim in A Hero (2021), which won the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Jadidi received a Palm Springs International Film Festival award for his performance in A Hero.

I Am Diego Maradona is a 2015 Iranian film directed by Bahram Tavakoli. The script was written by Tavakoli and lensed by Hooman Behmanesh. Golab Adineh, Saeed Aghakhani, Jamshid Hashempur, Babak Hamidian and Saber Abar starred in the principal roles.

A Hero is a 2021 Iranian-French drama film written and directed by Asghar Farhadi. Starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh and Sahar Goldoost. In June 2021, the film was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or. At the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, the film won the Grand Prix. It was selected as the Iranian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards, and was one of the 15 shortlisted films in the category but was not nominated.
