Baileysville High School was a high school located in Wyoming County, West Virginia. [1] It was closed in 2002 after consolidating with nearby Oceana High School to form Westside High School. [2]

Baileysville High School's mascot was the Rough Rider and the school colors were red, white and blue with blue being the dominant color.

Feeder schools for Baileysville High School included Baileysville Elementary School [3] and Huff Consolidated Elementary School [4] and Coal Mt. Elementary.[ citation needed ]

It runs through mountainous, rural terrain, connecting Baileysville and Oceana to the communities of Clear Fork, Lillydale, and Lillyhaven. WV 971 has been the highest numbered state highway in West Virginia since July 2017, when WV 972 was decommissioned and absorbed by WV 93.

Memphis City Schools (MCS) was the school district operating public schools in the city of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. It was headquartered in the Frances E. Coe Administration Building. On March 8, 2011, residents voted to disband the city school district, effectively merging it with the Shelby County School District. The merger took effect July 1, 2013. After much legal maneuvering, all six incorporated municipalities created separate school districts in 2014. Total enrollment, as of the 2010-2011 school year, was about 103,000 students, which made the district the largest in Tennessee.

Baileysville is an unincorporated community in Wyoming County, West Virginia, United States. Most of the town was purchased by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the 1960s and 1970s for construction of the R. D. Bailey Lake. The Post Office was closed in 1973. The geographic name lived on in the local high school, Baileysville High School, which served a regional area and was actually located outside of the town proper. The school was closed in 2002 after consolidating with nearby Oceana High to form Westside High School.

Westside High School is a consolidated regional high school in Clear Fork, West Virginia serving the western half of Wyoming County, West Virginia. It opened in 2002 and consolidated the former Oceana High School and Baileysville High School, also taking in about one-third of the attendance area of the former Glen Rogers High School, which had been merged into Oceana several years earlier.

Wyoming East High School is a consolidated regional high school in New Richmond, West Virginia serving the eastern half of Wyoming County, West Virginia. Opening ahead of the 1998-1999 Academic School Year, Wyoming East is a consolidation of former Pineville High School and Mullens High School. Also taking in the former Herndon High School, as well as roughly two-thirds of the attendance area of former Glen Rogers High School, which consolidated with Pineville High. Both Herndon High School and Glen Rogers High School, closed their doors following the 1991-1992 school term. It also celebrates the academic and athletic heritage of Conley High School, which was the county's segregated school and had closed following the 1963-1964 school term, consolidating into Mullens High School. As well as Milam High School, which sat between John McGraw and Ravencliff, West Virginia. (Milam High School would later consolidate into Glen Rogers.)

Mullens High School was a high school located in Mullens, Wyoming County, West Virginia, United States. It was closed in 1998 after consolidating with nearby Pineville High School, Herndon High School, and Glen Rogers High School to form Wyoming East High School.

The WVSSAC Super Six Football Championships is a series of high school football games, typically held on the first weekend of December, that determine the high school champions of the U.S. state of West Virginia. The tournaments that lead to the championship games, as well as regular-season competition, are governed by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC). The games have the name of "Super Six" because six teams play in the state's three championship games. The Championship games are held at Wheeling Island Stadium in Wheeling, a two-day affair, with one game on Friday and two on Saturday.

The West Virginia High School Football State Championships have been held since the early 1900s. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC) began its formal recognition of WV State Football Championships in 1937 with the state's sports writers' vote. The WVSSAC began a class system, dividing larger and smaller schools in 1947. WVSSAC official playoff games began in 1948. Prior to the WVSSAC's involvement in an official playoff, there were other systems in play. From 1916 to 1955 the WVSSAC was called the West Virginia Athletic Association.

Raleigh County Schools is a public school district in Raleigh County, West Virginia, located at 105 Adair Street, in the county seat of Beckley, West Virginia. The school district operates 27 public schools, including 17 elementary schools (PK-5), 5 middle schools (6-8), and 4 high schools (9-12). The district also maintains a career-technical education center for high school students and adults. The current superintendent is Dr. Serena Starcher.

Interstate 35 Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Truro, Iowa.
