The Punjabis are an Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group associated with the Punjab region, comprising areas of northwestern India and eastern Pakistan. They generally speak Standard Punjabi or various Punjabi dialects on both sides.
Music of Punjab reflects the traditions of the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent, associated with Punjabi language. Punjab is currently divided into two parts: East Punjab, in India, and West Punjab, the most populous province of Pakistan. The Punjab has diverse styles of music, ranging from folk and Sufi to classical, notably the Patiala gharana. Contemporary Punjabi music has tended to include more modern hip-hop and R&B sounds. Surinder Kaur was an Indian singer and songwriter. For her contributions to Punjabi music, she earned the sobriquet Nightingale of Punjab, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1984, and the Padma Shri in 2006.

Warrior culture typically elevates the value of the community's honour (izzat), which is highly esteemed by Punjabis.
Asa Singh Mastana was a Punjabi musician and singer best known for lending his voice to the bollywood movie dooj ka chand and singing jugni and Heer-genre of folk songs, which recount the tales of Heer Ranjha by poet Waris Shah. He became popular in the 1940s, by the mid-1960s, when state-run All India Radio started promoting folk musicians, this made him, along with Surinder Kaur, Pushpa Hans, Madan Bala Sidhu, Prakash Kaur, singers of cult status.
Kulwinder Singh Gill, better known as Guggu Gill, is an Indian film actor who mainly works in Punjabi cinema. He was one of the leading actors in Punjabi cinema in the 1990s along with Yograj Singh. He has done 65-70 films so far.

She was the first Punjabi female singer to sing on Indian public service broadcaster, Doordarshan. She was awarded Padma Bhushan by Indian government in 2022.
Punjabi folk music is the traditional music on the traditional musical instruments of the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. There is a great repertoire of music from the time of birth through the different stages of joy and sorrow till death. The folk music invokes the traditions as well as the hardworking nature, bravery and many more things that the people of Punjab get from its gateway-to-India geographical location. Due to the large area with many sub-regions, the folk music has minor lingual differences but invokes the same feelings. And sung by Harbhajan Mann.Because a folk song should not be written by an individual but by the entire social group. Therefore, this song is not a traditional folk song but an emotional song.
Tania is an Indian actress best known for her work in Punjabi cinema. She has been nominated for two Brit Asia TV Awards, winning one for "Best Supporting Actress" for her performance in Qismat (2018).
Mohinder Kaur Bhamra is a British singer of Punjabi folk music, ghazals and Sikh hymns. Some of her songs have highlighted issues that concern British Indian women.
Kamaldeep Singh Dhaliwal, commonly known as Hobby Dhaliwal is an Indian film actor, singer, and politician. He is known for his works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Dhaliwal began his career by debut movie Burrraahh in 2012. The films Angrej (2015), Lahoriye (2017), Jora 10 Numbaria (2017), and Ardaas Karaan (2019) are among his best known works.
Rupinder Rupi or Roopi Rupinder is an Indian film and television actress, who is known for her work in the Punjabi film industry. She is famous for appearing in mother's role in most of the films. Her most well-known works are the films Mera Pind, Bailaras, Laavaan Phere, Nadhoo Khan.
Bajre Da Sitta is a 2022 Punjabi period drama directed by Jass Grewal, and produced by Ammy Virk. Along with Virk, the film stars Tania and Noor Chahal in leading roles. Other main actors include Guggu Gill, B N Sharma, and Nirmal Rishi. The drama takes its title from the song of the same name, and was inspired by the sisters Surinder Kaur and Prakash Kaur, who first sang it. The film was released in India on 15 July 2022.
Rashmeet Kaur is an Indian singer, composer, and songwriter known for her songs Nadiyon Paar (Roohi), Jadi Buti, and Ishq Nachaawe.
