Salamah was a Palestinian Arab village, located five kilometers east of Jaffa, that was depopulated in the lead-up to the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The town was named for Salama Abu Hashim, a companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. His tomb, two village schools, and ten houses from among the over 800 houses that had made up the village, are all that remain of the structures of the former village today. The historic road from Jaffa to the village is now a street on the border of Tel Aviv and Jaffa, still commonly called "Salameh road".

Al Salamah is a motor yacht which was the property of the former Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, Sultan bin Abdulaziz. In 2013 it was put on sale for US$280 million but later it was given to Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa as a gift. At the time of its construction, it was the third largest motor yacht in the world.

On January 2, 2016, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia carried out a mass execution of 47 imprisoned civilians convicted of terrorism in 12 provinces in the country. Forty-three were beheaded and four were executed by firing squads. Among the 47 people killed was Shia Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. The execution was the largest carried out in the kingdom since 1980. Nimr al-Nimr was sentenced to death by the Specialized Criminal Court on 15 October 2014 for "seeking 'foreign meddling' in Saudi Arabia, 'disobeying' its rulers and taking up arms against the security forces". His execution was condemned by religious and political figures and human rights groups. The Saudi government said the body would not be handed over to the family. Al-Nimr was very critical of the Saudi Arabian government, and called for free elections in Saudi Arabia.

<i>Fulk Al Salamah</i> (2016 yacht) Luxury yacht launched in 2016

Fulk Al Salamah is a superyacht in service with the Oman Royal Yacht Squadron since her completion in 2016. She was first announced in 2014 as project Saffron. She joined the Lürssen superyacht Al Said in the capital Muscat as part of the royal fleet. At 164 metres, Fulk Al Salamah is the second longest yacht in the world as of 2022. She replaced a previous ship called Fulk Al Salamah which was renamed Al Dhaferah.
