Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited or BCSL is a state owned company of the Government of Bangladesh, [1] [2] located on the bank of the Bhairab River in the Shiromoni Industrial Area of Khulna City.

History

The company was incorporated on 6 November 1967 as Cable Industries of Pakistan in Khulna. [3] [4] It went into commercial production in 1973. In 2011, it started producing fiber optic cable. [5] As of 2010, the company had been able to make profit every year. Its yearly revenue in 2010 exceeded 1 billion BDT ($14.4M in 2010). [6]

The Khulna Shipyard Limited(Bengali: খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ড লিমিটেড) is a Bangladeshi state owned defense contractor based in Khulna, Bangladesh. It is located on 68.97 acres (27.91 ha) of land at Labanchara, Khulna, Bangladesh. It is about 45 km north from the Port of Mongla. The shipyard has the capacity to build steel / aluminium ships up to 90 m length and 700 tons lightweight. The shipyard has a slipway with a capacity to dock and undock vessels up to 700 tons lightweight and overall length of 84 meters.

Bangladesh Development Bank PLC. is a state-owned commercial bank in Bangladesh. The bank has one of the highest loan default rates in Bangladesh. Shamima Nargis is the chairperson of the bank. Md. Habibur Rahman Gazi is the chief executive officer and managing director of the bank.

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. (IBBPLC.) is an Islamic banking company based in Bangladesh. It became incorporated on 13 March 1983 as a public limited company under the Companies Act 1913 and started operation on 30 March, the same year. IBBPLC maintains its own ATM Booths with a country-wide shared ATM network. IBBPLC has been the largest private banking network in Bangladesh. When IBBPLC was established, it was the first bank in Southeast Asia to provide banking service based on Shariah. Sundarban Gas Company Limited is a Bangladesh government owned gas company under Petrobanglaresponsible for distributing gas in South-Western region of Bangladesh.
