The US chapter of the Juldia Marine Academy Alumni Association (JMAAA) took the initiative to obtain permission from the Bangladesh government to house the various artifacts inside. These were mostly donated by JMAAA USA. [1]

Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU) (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ মেরিটাইম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) was established in 2013, the 37th public university of the country.
