The Bangladesh Nazrul Sena (Bangladesh Nazrul Army) is an NGO, public service organization working for the education, health and upliftment of children, adolescents and young adults in Bangladesh. It is named after famous Bengali poet, writer and musician Kazi Nazrul Islam, whose philosophy has inspired the purpose and mission of the organization.
The Bangladesh Nazrul Sena was founded in 1964 in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan). Its activities were curtailed during the Bangladesh Liberation War and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, but began rapidly growing following the independence of Bangladesh. It was inspired by the philosophy of Kazi Nazrul Islam, who is regarded as the "national poet" of Bangladesh. The organization seeks to combat child abuse, injustice and discrimination of children and young people based on socio-economic background, religion, poverty, birth, sex, health and handicaps.
Governed by a central committee of trustees and board members, the Bangladesh Nazrul Sena has 35 branches and chapters across Bangladesh, through which it sponsors initiatives and programmes for healthcare and education for Bangladeshi youth. It works with public schools, kindergarten schools and orphanages to provide care and support for the development of children and young adults. The organization also supports many volunteer activities and programmes.
The organization has also established the Nazrul Sena School, which is a well-known kindergarten school in Mymensingh. It was established in 1990, and is directly monitored by Bangladesh Nazrul Sena. G. E. M. Faruque, a key official of the organization, is the founder and the current principal of the school. Nazrul Sena school has more than 200 students, 18 full-time teachers and 5 other staff members. Students of the school are always busy with their education and also involved in cultural activities like music, dance, drawing, sports, debating, speech and other social activities. The school started education using multimedia computer software for the first time in Myemsingh and amongst the first in Bangladesh. Every year the school arranges picnics, study tours, annual sports, cultural competitions, annual prize-giving ceremony. Every year, the students organize a Multimedia Computer Show. In the fair, the students exhibit how much they learn from computer multimedia software.
Kazi Nazrul Islam was a Bengali poet, writer, journalist, and musician. He is the national poet of Bangladesh. Nazrul produced a large body of poetry, music, messages, novels, and stories with themes that included equality, justice, anti-imperialism, humanity, rebellion against oppression and religious devotion. Nazrul Islam's activism for political and social justice as well as writing a poem titled as "Bidrohī", meaning "the rebel" in Bengali, earned him the title of "Bidrohī Kôbi". His compositions form the avant-garde music genre of Nazrul Gīti.
Jahangirnagar University is a fully residential public research university located in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Zohra Begum Kazi was the first Bengali Muslim female physician. She was awarded the Tamgha-e-Pakistan in 1964, Begum Rokeya Padak in 2002, and the Ekushey Padak in 2008.
Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) is a public state research university located in Asansol, West Bengal. The CM Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone on 10 January 2013. The university has been named after the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The university was established under the Kazi Nazrul University Act, 2012. Anuradha Mukherjee was appointed as the first vice-chancellor of the university. In 2018 in a special convocation the university honored Ex Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina with honorary Doctorate of Literature.
Joy Bangla is a slogan and war cry used in Bangladesh and in the Indian state of West Bengal to indicate nationalism towards the geopolitical, cultural and historical region of Bengal and Bangamata. It is also recognised as the national slogan of Bangladesh. It translates roughly to "Victory to Bengal" or "Hail Bengal".

Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics (BIGC) is the oldest and only institute of its kind in Bangladesh. The establishment of the institute dates back to 11 March 1951 named as East Bengal Ceramics Institute. In 1960 the institute was renamed East Pakistan Institute of Glass and Ceramics (EPIGC). In 1971 Bangladesh emerged as an independent nation from Pakistan, the institute was again renamed as “Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics” in 1972. With the growing demands of Glass and Ceramics sector of mid-level technical manpower home and abroad three years Diploma in Ceramic Engineering was introduced in the year 1978 and Diploma in Glass Engineering was introduced in the year 2000. Duration of the Glass and Ceramic Engineering Course has changed to four years from the year 2000.
