Bangladesh–India relations are the bilateral relations between the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Republic of India, both of which are South Asian neighbours. Diplomatic relations between the two countries formally began in 1971 with India's recognition of an independent Bangladesh following India's military intervention helping Bangladesh secure independence following the Bangladesh Liberation War. On 6 December, Bangladesh and India celebrate Friendship Day commemorating India's recognition of Bangladesh and the continued friendship between the two countries.
Vietnam first competed in the Olympic Games in 1952 as the State of Vietnam. After the Partition of Vietnam in 1954, only the Republic of Vietnam competed in the Games, sending athletes to every Summer Olympics between 1956 and 1972.

The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment estimates there are almost 7.5 million Bangladeshis living abroad, the fourth highest among the top 176 countries of origin for international migrants. Annual remittances transferred to Bangladesh were almost $23 billion in 2023, the seventh highest in the world and the third highest in South Asia.
Bangladesh made its Paralympic Games début at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, sending a single representative to compete in athletics. Mokshud entered only the men's 400m T46 sprint, and failed to advance past the heats, clocking by far the slowest time. In 1:15.90, he was the only athlete to run the race in more than a minute. In 2008, the country once more had a single representative, Abdul Quader Suman. Visually impaired Suman ran the men's 100m sprint in the T12 category, and recorded the slowest time in the heats (16.63s), thus finishing his participation in the Games.
Bangladesh competed in the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games held in the Isle of Man from 7 to 13 September 2011. This was their second appearance in the Commonwealth Youth Games. The nation was represented by the Bangladesh Olympic Association, which is responsible for the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games in Bangladesh.

Pakistan competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014. Pakistan's team consisted of one athlete in alpine skiing. The country competed for the second consecutive Winter Games, after making its debut four years earlier in Vancouver. The flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies was Pakistan's sole athlete Muhammad Karim.
The ceramics industry is a growing manufacturing sector in Bangladesh. The industry started in the late 1950s when the first ceramic industrial plants were established. The industry mainly produces tableware, sanitaryware and tiles. As of 2011, there were 21 ceramic industrial units throughout Bangladesh, employing about 500,000 people. In the first nine months of the 2013-14 fiscal year, Bangladesh exported about US$36 million worth of goods after meeting 80% of the domestic demand. The main export destinations are the EU, the US and the Middle East.

First Security Islami Bank PLC is a public limited bank in Bangladesh which was founded on 29 August 1999 and provides sharia compliant banking. Mohammed Saiful Alam, chairman of S. Alam Group of Industries, was the chairman of First Security Islami Bank Limited. The bank experienced a cash crunch in 2022 after proving large unsecured loans. The Bangladesh Bank on September 1, 2024, dissolved the board of First Security Islami Bank PLC, which was under the control of controversial S Alam Group, and appointed independent directors to the bank board.

Pathao ; is a Bangladeshi on-demand digital platform company headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The company operates in four cities in Bangladesh: Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet, and in two cities in Nepal: Kathmandu and Chitwan. Pathao has ride-sharing services, food delivery, courier and E-commerce services. Pathao is the first major ride-sharing company in Bangladesh to get enlistment certificate from the authorities.
Nagad is a Bangladeshi Digital Large Financial Service (DFS), operating under the authority of Bangladesh Post Office, an attached department of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication.
Bangladesh competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's tenth appearance at the Summer Olympics.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 7 January 2024 in accordance with the constitutional requirement, stating that elections must take place within the 90-day period before the expiration of the current term of the Jatiya Sangsad on 29 January 2024. The Awami League, led by incumbent Sheikh Hasina, won the election for the fourth consecutive time with less than 10% of the eligible voters voting according to an Election Commission, which is run by the ruling political party. The party won 224 seats while independent candidates, most of whom were Awami League members propped up as dummy candidates to give a semblance of competition, won 62 seats.
The 2022–23 Bangladesh Premier League was the 15th season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. The league was contested by 11 teams including AFC Uttara and Fortis FC, who joined as the promoted clubs from the 2021–22 Championship League. The season started on 9 December 2022 and concluded on 22 July 2023.
