Banissa (also spelled 'Banisa') is a town in Kenya's Mandera County. The headquarters of Banissa sub-county are located in the town. [1]

El Wak, also Elwak is a town in Kenya, on the International border with Somalia. The name El wak translates into "the wells of God". There are about 50 wells spread across the town, each approximately 60 feet deep with interconnected underground passages.

The park is situated along the Kenya-Ethiopia border along the Daua River. The river is in the extreme north eastern part of the country on the Mandera plateau. The climate in Malka Mari National Park is hot and dry, implying that the area scrubby and semi arid grassland is dominant. The Daua River is surrounded by palms and riparian woodland.

Sub-counties, formerly known as Districts, are the decentralised units through which government of Kenya provides functions and services. Except for the parts which fall under urban areas, sub-counties will coincide with the constituencies created under article 89 of the Constitution of Kenya. Most sub-counties have a sub-county administrator, appointed by a County Public Service Board. Even though the sub-counties are divisions of counties, powers to create new sub-counties lies with the national government. As of 2023, there are 314 sub-counties, compared to 290 constituencies. The Elwak–Mandera Road, is a rural road in Kenya. The road links Elwak, to the town of Mandera, in the country's extreme northeast, near the tri-point where the borders of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia meet.
Rhamu know to the locals as "shantooley", is a town in the Mandera County of Kenya situated in the northeastern part of Kenya, approximately 15 kilometers east of the River Dawa. The town lies within a semi-arid region characterized by dry and hot conditions, with limited rainfall and sparse vegetation.. It is largely populated by the Garre and Degodia as well as a substantial settlement of Murule clan on the north east side. The town was previously built by the british colonial administration and was the border between Quranyow-Banna section of the Garre tribe and degodia Rhamu is located at the international border between Kenya and Ethiopia. Due to its proximity to Ethiopia, Rhamu has historically been a center for cross-border trade. Local traders engage in the exchange of goods, including livestock, agricultural products, and other commodities with their Ethiopian counterparts.

Takaba is a town in Mandera County, in northeastern Kenya. According to the 2009 census, the town was the fourth most populous in the county with a population of 21,474. The town has a functional airstrip. The headquarters of Mandera West sub-county are located in Takaba.
Isiolo–Mandera Road, is a road in Kenya. It is a major transport route linking north-central Kenya to Kenya's northeast. The counties that the road traverses are generally arid, and have hitherto been undeserved. This road project is the largest and most expensive infrastructure project in northeastern Kenya since the country became independent in 1963.
