The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is a centre-right to right-wing conservative Indian political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 15 Indian states and one Union territory.

He is former leader of the opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. He also served as National President of the Nationalist Youth Congress.

The scheduled election in Northern Angami II constituency did not take place as only incumbent MLA Neiphiu Rio was nominated and was therefore declared elected unopposed. Abiy Ahmed Ali is an Ethiopian politician serving as the third Prime Minister of Ethiopia since 2018, and as a leader of the Prosperity Party since 2019. Abiy served as the third chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) that governed Ethiopia for 28 years and the first person of Oromo descent to hold that position. Abiy is a member of the Ethiopian parliament, and was a member of the Oromo Democratic Party (ODP), one of the then four coalition parties of the EPRDF, until its rule ceased in 2019 and he formed his own party, the Prosperity Party.

He has been elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 2008, 2013 and 2018 from Mairang constituency as candidate of United Democratic Party. He was the speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. He is also United Democratic Party president after the death of Donkupar Roy. He was Minister of Excise Registration Taxation Stamps, Home, Tourism, Water Resources in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018 to 2019.
Constantine Lyngdoh was an Indian politician of the Hill State People's Democratic Party from Meghalaya. He was elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 1993 from Nongpoh constituency as candidate of Hill State People's Democratic Party where he defeated Chief Minister of Meghalaya D. D. Lapang.
The 1988 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election was held on 2 February 1988. In the lead up to the election, sporadic violence targeted at the Indian Nepali population of the state occurred. No party secured a majority of seats and two women were elected.
The 1993 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election was held on 19 February 1993.
The 1998 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election was held on 16 February 1998.
