Barry "Slice" Rohrssen (born June 24, 1960) is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was named the 22nd head coach in Manhattan Jaspers basketball history on April 25, 2006. [1] Rohrssen was fired on March 9, 2011 after going 58–95 over five seasons. [2] He has also served as an assistant under John Calipari at Kentucky [3] and at St. John's University under Chris Mullin. [4] [5]

Prior to being appointed at Manhattan, Rohrssen served as an assistant coach at St. Francis College (his alma mater), the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and the University of Pittsburgh. He was later promoted to associate head coach at Pittsburgh. He is well known for his ability as a recruiter (particularly in New York City) and was directly responsible for opening the pipeline from New York City to Pittsburgh. He did so by signing NYC natives like Levance Fields and Carl Krauser.

Rohrssen has also worked as an actor, with minor roles in several films, including Glengarry Glen Ross (1992). His most recent part was that of a referee in Uncle Drew (2018). [6]

The Manhattan Jaspers men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Manhattan College in The Bronx, New York City, New York, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They have won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament championship five times. The Jaspers have had three players named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year, most recently Luis Flores in 2003. Luis Flores is also the Manhattan Jaspers all-time leading scorer with 2046 points from 2001-2004. Their current head coach is John Gallagher, who was hired from the University of Hartford in March of 2023.

RaShawn Stores is an American basketball coach and player who is currently an assistant coach for the NJIT Highlanders basketball team. Stores was previously the interim head coach of the Manhattan Jaspers during the 2022–23 season. Stores also played basketball for Manhattan collegiately from 2012 to 2016.

The 2010–11 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan College during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by fifth year head coach Barry Rohrssen, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 6–25 overall and 3–15 in MAAC conference play. They lost in the first round of the MAAC Basketball tournament 68–66 in overtime to Siena. Rohrssen was fired on March 9, 2011, finishing his five-year tenure at Manhattan with a 58–95 record.
