Basra Specialized Football School (BSFS) was opened on the recommendation of Bassam Raouf, Director of the Department of Football Specialized Schools at the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2012. [1]

Location and Management

Basra Specialized Football School is located in the area Kut al-Hijjaj in the center of Basra, and headed by coach Hassan Muwla since its inception. The Football School team won the title of the Perfect Team by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the 2018 tournament. [2]

Al-Fayhaa Stadium, also known as Mohamed Musbah Al‑Waeli Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Basra, Southern Iraq. The stadium is part of the much larger Basra Sports City complex, and is surrounded by football training pitches, four Five Star hotels and other sports-related facilities. It is currently used mostly for football matches and also has facilities for athletics. The stadium has an official capacity of 10,000 spectators. It is owned by the Government of Iraq.

Former player Mohammed Abdul Hussein is the current academy manager.

Fatat Al-Basra Sport Club, is an Iraqi women's multi-sport club based in Al-Ashar, Basra. The club's fencing team is the best, as it won the Iraqi Elite League.

Hassan Mawla Maleh is a coach and former international Iraqi football player, he played as a striker. He is currently working as a director of Basra Specialized Football School.
