Basso & Brooke is a fashion label formed by Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke.
Bruno Basso was born in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil. [1] Christopher Brooke was born in Newark-on-Trent, UK. [2]
After meeting in 2001, they produced their first collection in 2004, and were the inaugural winners of Fashion Fringe, [3] [4] a UK talent competition to search out for the next big thing in fashion. The label is noted for their pioneering use of the digital print technique within the fashion industry. [5] [6] Tim Blanks of Style.com described them as the Pixar of clothes. [7] They have also been described as "the masters of fantastical digital print." [8]
Since then, they have launched numerous ready-to-wear collections from 2005–present.
In 2006, The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan museum of art in New York acquired the Swarovski crystal-covered finale piece of their Autumn/Winter 2005 collection. [9]
In May 2009, Michelle Obama wore a piece from their SS09 collection at an informal evening of Poetry, Music and the Spoken Word within the White House. [10]
In April 2006, they produced a chandelier with Swarovski for the Crystal Palace exhibition in Milan, Italy. [11]
In May 2009, Basso & Brooke collaborated with Converse for the Project (RED) charity, [12] and designed a limited edition lipstick packaging for L'Oréal. [13]
In 2006, The Dorchester Collection (a luxury hotel operator owned by the Brunei Investment Agency) [14] commissioned Basso & Brooke to design a series of dresses to represent five of their hotels; Dorchester Hotel, The Beverly Hills Hotel, Plaza Athénée, Hotel Meurice and Principe di Savoia. Stephen Jones (milliner) to the Dior fashion house was enlisted by the designers to create hats to accompany the dresses. [15] [16] [17]
Lee Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer and couturier. He founded his own Alexander McQueen label in 1992, and was chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001. His achievements in fashion earned him four British Designer of the Year awards, as well as the Council of Fashion Designers of America International Designer of the Year award in 2003. McQueen died by suicide in 2010 at the age of 40, at his home in Mayfair, London, shortly after the death of his mother.
Alberta Ferretti is an Italian fashion designer and dressmaker. She designed for her namesake brand Alberta Ferretti from its foundation in 1981 to 2024, and designed for Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti until 2014. Her showroom is in Milan, Italy but her studio is in her native village of Cattolica, near Rimini, Italy.
Swarovski is an Austrian producer of glass based in Wattens in the Tyrol. It was founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski.

Proenza Schouler is a womenswear and accessories brand founded in New York City in 2002 by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. In October 2024 Proenza Schouler appointed Shira Suveyke Snyder as chief executive officer, succeeding Kay Hong who had been in the role since 2018. In January 2025 Proenza Schouler announced that McCollough and Hernandez would cease designing for the company but would remain on the board and continue to be minority shareholders.
Behnaz Sarafpour is an Iranian-born American fashion designer, and fragrance designer. She had a ready-to-wear line of women's apparel bearing her name, Behnaz Sarafpour, Ltd. from 2001 until 2014, and has her own perfume line. Sarafpour has held design positions at Isaac Mizrahi, Narciso Rodriguez, Richard Tyler, Anne Klein, and Barneys New York. She has been based in New York City and Pound Ridge, New York.

Tatty Devine is a brand name for a jewellery company based in the East End of London, owned by Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine who established the company in 1999. They have one shop in London's Covent Garden, situated on Neal Street. They make laser cut acrylic-based art jewellery which is handmade in the UK and personalised Name Necklaces, laser cut and handmade to order. In 2013, Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine were awarded MBEs for Services to the Fashion Industry.
Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion house founded by the designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. After his death, Sarah Burton was its creative director, from 2010 to 2023. Gianfilippo Testa has been CEO since March 2022 and Seán McGirr creative director since October 2023. The house specializes in haute couture, ready-to-wear, premium leather accessories, as well as footwear.
Oxford Fashion Week was an annual independent fashion showcase in Oxford, England. It was founded in 2009 by Oxford University graduates Carl Anglim and Victoria Watson. The event was organised by Carl Anglim and Tiff Saunders. Anglim was the director and Saunders was the assistant director. Oxford Fashion Week showcased the talent of designers such as Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson and Valentin Yudashkin. The last event appears to have taken place in 2016.
Maison Margiela, formerly Maison Martin Margiela, is a French luxury fashion house founded by Belgian designer Martin Margiela and Jenny Meirens in 1988 and headquartered in Paris. The house produces both haute couture-inspired artisanal collections and ready-to-wear collections, with the former influencing the designs of the latter. Product lines include womenswear, menswear, jewellery, footwear, accessories, leather goods, perfumes and household goods. Known for deconstructive and avant-garde designs with unconventional materials, Maison Margiela has traditionally held live shows in unusual settings, for example empty metro stations and street corners. Models' faces are often obscured by fabric or long hair to direct attention to the clothes and design. Margiela resigned as creative designer in 2009. John Galliano was appointed to the role in 2014, and resigned in 2024. The identity of his successor is unknown.
The Row is an American luxury fashion label established by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006 in New York City. The Row produces ready-to-wear clothing, footwear, handbags and accessories. The label has five monobrand stores and is available in 37 countries. The brand has been described as "an American answer to Loro Piana and Phoebe Philo-era Céline".
