Basso & Brooke is a fashion label formed by Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke.

Bruno Basso was born in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil. [1] Christopher Brooke was born in Newark-on-Trent, UK. [2]

After meeting in 2001, they produced their first collection in 2004, and were the inaugural winners of Fashion Fringe, [3] [4] a UK talent competition to search out for the next big thing in fashion. The label is noted for their pioneering use of the digital print technique within the fashion industry. [5] [6] Tim Blanks of Style.com described them as the Pixar of clothes. [7] They have also been described as "the masters of fantastical digital print." [8]

Since then, they have launched numerous ready-to-wear collections from 2005–present.

In 2006, The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan museum of art in New York acquired the Swarovski crystal-covered finale piece of their Autumn/Winter 2005 collection. [9]

In May 2009, Michelle Obama wore a piece from their SS09 collection at an informal evening of Poetry, Music and the Spoken Word within the White House. [10]

Collaborations

In April 2006, they produced a chandelier with Swarovski for the Crystal Palace exhibition in Milan, Italy. [11]

In May 2009, Basso & Brooke collaborated with Converse for the Project (RED) charity, [12] and designed a limited edition lipstick packaging for L'Oréal. [13]

In 2006, The Dorchester Collection (a luxury hotel operator owned by the Brunei Investment Agency) [14] commissioned Basso & Brooke to design a series of dresses to represent five of their hotels; Dorchester Hotel, The Beverly Hills Hotel, Plaza Athénée, Hotel Meurice and Principe di Savoia. Stephen Jones (milliner) to the Dior fashion house was enlisted by the designers to create hats to accompany the dresses. [15] [16] [17]

Peter Som Chinese American fashion designer (born 1970)

Peter Som is a Chinese American fashion designer. He was creative director for Bill Bass and creative consultant for Tommy Hilfiger, where he designed the women’s wear collection, prior to founding his eponymous label. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Peter Som graduated from Connecticut College in 1993 with a degree in art history. He continued his studies at the Parsons School of Design where he apprenticed with American designers, Michael Kors and Calvin Klein. At Parsons, his talent was recognized through competitions; he won and was presented with the Parsons Gold Thimble Award by Isaac Mizrahi.

Victorias Secret Fashion Show Fashion event (1995–2018)

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was an annual promotional event sponsored by and featuring Victoria's Secret, a brand of lingerie. From 1995 to 2018, Victoria's Secret used the show to market its goods in high-profile settings. Models under contract to the company, known as Victoria's Secret Angels, were key participants at the event. The fashion show was cancelled in 2019, the same year its organizer, Edward Razek, resigned under public pressure.

Jasper Garvida Filipino fashion designer

Tatty Devine

Tatty Devine is a brand name for a jewellery company based in the East End of London, owned by Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine who established the company in 1999. They have two shops in London's Brick Lane and Covent Garden. They make acrylic-based jewellery which is handmade in the UK. In 2013, Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine were awarded MBEs for Services to the Fashion Industry.

Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion house founded by designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. Its current creative director is Sarah Burton.

Oxford Fashion Week is an annual independent fashion showcase in Oxford, England. It was founded in 2009 by Oxford University graduates Carl Anglim and Victoria Watson. The event is currently organised by Carl Anglim and Tiff Saunders. Carl works as the director and Tiff works as assistant director. Oxford Fashion Week has showcased the talent of designers such as Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson and Valentin Yudashkin.

Holly Fulton is a London-based fashion designer who set up her eponymous fashion label in 2009. Known for bold graphic and 3D motifs, innovative use of textiles and distinctive accessories, she has been described as the "queen of prints". She is a regular at London Fashion Week and has also appeared at Hong Kong Fashion Week.

Maison Margiela, formerly Maison Martin Margiela, is a French luxury fashion house founded by Martin Margiela in 1988 and headquartered in Paris. The house produces both haute couture-inspired artisanal collections and ready-to-wear collections, with the former influencing the designs of the latter. Product lines include womenswear, menswear, fine jewelry, footwear, objects, fragrance, and home goods, among others. Known for deconstructive and avant-garde designs with unconventional materials, Maison Margiela has traditionally held live shows in unusual settings, for example empty metro stations and street corners. Models' faces are often obscured by fabric or long hair to direct attention to the clothes and design. Margiela resigned as creative designer in 2009 and John Galliano was appointed to the role in 2014.

Nabil El-Nayal, more commonly known as Nabil Nayal is a Syrian-born British fashion designer. He moved to England at the age of 14 and has since gone on to win awards including the Royal Society of Arts Award, the Graduate Fashion Week 'Best Womenswear' Award and the British Fashion Council MA Scholarship Award.

FYODOR GOLAN is a fashion brand based in London. It was founded in 2011 by British designers Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman. The duo is known for their colourful advanced-contemporary ready-to-wear designs.
