A unique coaching achievement

Nithin, a talented sprinter hailing from Chennai, has made a remarkable comeback in the world of athletics following a challenging period of injuries from 2019. He hardly ran any races, and the injury toll made him seek a new channel to make a comeback. This is when he met Basu Shanker in the beginning of 2024.   Under the expert guidance of coach Basu Shanker, Nithin underwent a transformative training regimen that enabled him to break the open national record for the 200 meters with an impressive time of 20.66 seconds within just 250 days of dedicated training.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy not only because of the record itself but also due to Nithin's journey back to competitive form. After facing significant setbacks, he has successfully improved his personal best while remaining largely injury-free throughout the 2024-2025 season. His resilience and determination signal a bright future ahead, and many believe he has the potential to excel further under Basu Shanker's mentorship.

Basu Shanker has emerged as one of the most sought-after coaches in the field, recognized for his unique skill set that combines rehabilitation expertise with performance training and periodization strategies—capabilities that are rare in the global sports arena. This combination has proven instrumental in Nithin's resurgence, showcasing how effective coaching can facilitate an athlete's recovery and peak performance. As Nithin continues to train and compete, his trajectory suggests that he is poised for even greater accomplishments in the future.
