Batau FC was a South African football (soccer) club based in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

They were relegated from the 2010–11 National First Division (NFD). In August 2011, they failed in an attempt to purchase the shares of NFD team United FC. [1] Subsequently they won the 2011–12 SAFA Second Division Mpumalanga, but failed to make it out of the playoffs.

2009–10 National First Division, was the season from August 2009 until February 2010, of South Africa's second tier of professional football. By the end of the season, the Coastal stream champion Vasco da Gama met to play the overall championship final, against the Inland stream champion Black Leopards. Vasco da Gama won the final, and thereby got promoted to Premier Soccer League. The subsequent playoff stage, was contested by the losing finalist, two second ranked teams of the NFD streams, and the second lowest ranked team of PSL. Winner of the playoff stage, and thereby the second promotion to PSL, was the team Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Mbombela United FC is a community soccer team based in the Mpumalanga provincial of Mbombela, formerly known as Nelspruit. It plays in the National first Division of South Africa. The team was established in 2010 and is wholly owned by the Matsebula brothers, Skhumbuzo and Oupa who are prominent business people in the transport and property sector. It is popularly known as Tingwenyama which means pride of lions in the local SiSwati language. Since its formation, the team has been given first priority for talent showcase to young boys from around the Mpumalanga province more especially from the Lowveld. During the 2012/13 season, The Mbombela United FC won the Mpumalanga provincial SAFA League then known as Vodacom league under the guidance of caretaker coach, Lesego Matsomela and represented the province but failed to qualify for an NFD spot.

TS Galaxy F.C. is a South African football club based in Kameelrivier near Siyabuswa (Mpumalanga) that plays in the PSL.

Rhulani Manzini is a South African soccer player who plays for South African Premier Division side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, as a forward. He has also played professionally for Batau, Jomo Cosmos, Sivutsa Stars, Witbank Spurs, Platinum Stars and AmaZulu.

The 2022-23 South African Premier Division from 5th August 2022 to 20th May 2023 is the 27th consecutive season of the PSL.
