Bates Settlement is a former [1] settlement in New Brunswick.

Contents

It was located 2.26 km NE of Hartfield and 2.26 km SE of Campbell Settlement.

Currently, the road to the settlement serves as a logging road.

History

It was first named Oldham Settlement for Joseph Oldham, one of the first settlers in the area. It was later renamed Bates Settlement for settlers John and Lewis Bates. [2]

Sunny Corner, New Brunswick is a rural settlement in Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada. It is located approximately 35 km west of Miramichi, New Brunswick, on the northeast bank of the Northwest Miramichi River, opposite, Red Bank. The River de Chute is a river in Maine and New Brunswick. From the outflow of Lindsay Lake in Easton, Maine, the river runs about 5 miles (8 km) south, about half a mile west of the Canada–United States border.
