Baton Rouge General Medical Center – Bluebonnet Campus is a 201-bed, private hospital located at 8585 Picardy Avenue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The hospital offers various medical services and surgical procedures in addition to an Emergency Department. The hospital is a subsidiary of General Health System (GHS), the corporate parent of Baton Rouge General that handles some administrative functions for the hospital. In addition to Baton Rouge General Medical Center, the GHS Organization includes Baton Rouge General Physicians, Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, Baton Rouge General Medical Center's Foundation and other programs spanning over the Capital city's nine-parish service area. Baton Rouge General Medical Center – Bluebonnet Campus and Baton Rouge General Medical Center - Mid-City Campus are considered one hospital with two locations.
The Earl K. Long Medical Center, named after the Louisiana politician Earl K. Long, was an acute-care hospital located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The hospital was a member of the Louisiana State University Medical Center (LSUMC). Earl K. Long Medical Center was responsible for providing care to several state parishes. Earl K. Long was a public facility, and was run by the state of Louisiana. Various outpatient and inpatient services are no longer provided at this facility.
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (OLOLRMC) is a general medical and surgical facility located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is a Catholic hospital member of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS). The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, and it serves as a teaching hospital to Our Lady of the Lake College, Louisiana State University, Tulane University, and Southern University.
Norwood Hospital was a small for-profit community hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts. A member of Steward Health Care, the hospital was evacuated and closed after a significant June 2020 rainstorm led to destructive flooding. While reconstruction was started to reopen the hospital, work halted in February 2024 amid reports of financial instability and unpaid bills across the Steward Health Care System.

Mount Carmel East is a primary care hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Located on a 77-acre (31 ha) campus just outside of the suburb of Reynoldsburg, the hospital serves the east side of Columbus as well as other smaller communities. Mount Carmel East is part of Mount Carmel Health System, which was founded in 1886 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. It is located off Interstate 270 and is accessible from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) public transport network. The hospital opened in 1972, and has expanded since, becoming the largest hospital in the Mount Carmel Health System network and the fourth-largest hospital in Central Ohio. U.S. News & World Report regionally ranked Mount Carmel East and West Hospitals as the 18th best performing hospitals in Ohio and high performing in four specialties and procedures.
The first presumptive case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic in Louisiana was announced on March 9, 2020. Since the first confirmed case, the outbreak grew particularly fast relative to other states and countries. As of September 29, 2022, there have been 1,454,828 cumulative COVID-19 cases and 18,058 deaths. Confirmed cases have appeared in all 64 parishes, though the New Orleans metro area alone has seen the majority of positive tests and deaths. Governor John Bel Edwards closed schools statewide on March 16, 2020, restricted most businesses to takeout and delivery only, postponed presidential primaries, and placed limitations on large gatherings. On March 23, Edwards enacted a statewide stay-at-home order to encourage social distancing, and President Donald Trump issued a major disaster declaration, the fourth state to receive one.
