In 2002 Nishimura switched to beach volleyball. He currently plays in "Winds" beach volleyball team. In 2009, Nishimura founded the environmental non-profit-organisation "Save the Beach".

Xue Chen is a Chinese female beach volleyball player, measuring 191 centimetres in height. Her hometown is Fuzhou, but she trains in Sanya, Hainan. She has also trained in California under coach Dane Selznick.

The Asian Beach Volleyball Championships is an international beach volleyball competition held every year in Asia and Oceania contested by the double-gender beach volleyball of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation.

The volleyball tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was played between 6 and 21 August. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams, total 386 athletes, participated in the tournament. The indoor volleyball competition took place at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho in Maracanã, and the beach volleyball tournament was held at Copacabana Beach, in the temporary Copacabana Stadium.

The volleyball tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will be played between 25 July and 9 August. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams will participate in the tournament. The indoor volleyball competition will take place at Ariake Arena in Ariake, and the beach volleyball tournament will be held at Shiokaze Park, in the temporary Shiokaze Park Stadium.

The South American Beach Games is a biennial multi-sport event in beach sports between athletes representing nations from South America. It is organised by ODESUR. The first event was held in 2009.

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. is the current national governing body (NSA) for volleyball in the Philippines recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
