Beau Black (born August 5, 1983) [3] is an American composer, producer, musician, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist from New York City, New York. [4] [5] He served as the primary songwriter for Disney's television show The Lion Guard , and received a Daytime Emmy Creative Arts nomination in 2017 in the category Outstanding Original Song for the Lion Guard song "Sisi Ni Sawa" (with Sarah Mirza, Ford Riley and Kevin Hopps) [6] [7] [8] [9] He received a 2nd Daytime Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Original Song in a Children's, Young Adult or Animated Program" for “As You Move Forward” from The Lion Guard.

Life and work

Beau Black is the son of Jay Black, [10] [11] lead singer of Jay and the Americans and his mother is Andi Black. [12] Black’s first album of original music, Meant to Be, was released in 2008. [12] Black has worked on shows including Miles from Tomorrowland , Penn Zero: Part Time Hero , The Lion Guard , Mickey and the Roadster Racers , Firebuds , TrollsTopia , Jake and the Neverland Pirates and The Rocketeer . [13] He joined the creative team as a composer and songwriter for the Disney Junior production of the Mickey Mouse Funhouse Animated Series, which debuted in 2021. [14]

He was nominated for a 2017 Daytime Emmy award for composing the song “Sisi Ni Sawa” from The Lion Guard, a series that he served as the primary songwriter for. [6] [15] In 2020, Black was named a nominee for the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Original Song in a Children's, Young Adult or Animated Program" for “As You Move Forward” from The Lion Guard. In 2011, he married British-Spanish singer, songwriter and actress Alex Cartana. [22] They have one child, a daughter, who was born in May 2021. [23] [24]

The PeopleMover, sometimes referred to as the Goodyear PeopleMover and WEDWay PeopleMover, was a transport attraction that opened on July 2, 1967, in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Guests boarded small trains that ran on elevated tracks for a "grand circle tour" above Tomorrowland. The term "people mover", now in wider use to describe many forms of automated public transport, was first coined as the name for this attraction. PeopleMover was originally only a working title, but became attached to the project over time. The attraction was initially seen as a serious prototype for intercity public transport. The ride closed on August 21, 1995, but its station and track infrastructure—which it shared with its short-lived successor, Rocket Rods—remain standing as of 2024. A second PeopleMover opened on July 1, 1975 in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida near Orlando, Florida, and is still operating today.

Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series is the successor to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Originally airing as Mickey and the Roadster Racers for its first two seasons, it debuted on its first two episodes consecutively on January 15, 2017.

Mercury Filmworks is a Canadian independent animation studio based in Ottawa, Ontario. The studio was originally founded in Vancouver by Clint Eland, the current CEO, in 1997. Mercury Filmworks has produced animated television series and feature films for a variety of companies, including Disney, Netflix, Amazon Studios, and Warner Bros. "Mumbai Madness" is the eighth episode of the second season of the American animated television series Mickey Mouse, and its 26th episode overall. Co-written and directed by series creator Paul Rudish, the episode first aired on the Disney Channel in the United States on September 26, 2014, and was subsequently released on YouTube the next day. In the episode, Mickey Mouse is an auto rickshaw taxi driver in Mumbai, India tasked with transporting an elephant with a broken tusk to a distant mountain, encountering various obstacles along the way.

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation for Disney+. The series is a continuation and revival of the Emmy Award-winning 2013 Mickey Mouse shorts, uses the same style, and has many of the same cast and crew, with the exception of the late Russi Taylor, who was replaced by Kaitlyn Robrock in the role of Minnie Mouse. The series premiered on November 18, 2020 to coincide with Mickey's 92nd birthday. The animation is provided by Mercury Filmworks.

Sascha Paladino is an American television writer and documentary director. At Nickelodeon, he was the head writer and developer of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, for which he received a 2010 Daytime Emmy Award nomination. He also wrote for other Nick-produced shows, including Blue's Clues, Oobi, Team Umizoomi, Wonder Pets! and the Nickelodeon revival of Winx Club. Paladino was the director of the documentary Throw Down Your Heart, which was about his half-brother, the banjo player Béla Fleck.
