Beaufort was a railway station on the Morristown and Erie Railway in Roseland, New Jersey in the United States. [3] The same name is also rarely used for the neighborhood of southwestern Roseland near the former railway station. The station building currently houses the Orange-Alden Fuel Company. That address is 10 Eisenhower Parkway in Roseland and is near the Livingston border. The Beaufort station was located not far from what is today Beaufort Avenue in Livingston. Before the Eisenhower Parkway was built Beaufort Avenue continued from Livingston to Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland.
The station was started in 1904 when residents of the neighborhood constructed a wooden shed to serve as a station along the M&E, whose passengers were familiar with multiple flag stop stations along the line but wanted regularly scheduled service to their neighborhood. Eventually the Morristown and Erie Railway company constructed the station building that stands today. Passenger service along the line stopped in 1928. [2]
Route 10 is a 23.5 mi (37.82 km) state highway in the northern part of the U.S. state of New Jersey. It runs from an intersection of US 46 in Roxbury, Morris County, east to Prospect Avenue / Mt Pleasant Avenue in West Orange, Essex County. Route 10 is a major route through northern New Jersey that runs through Ledgewood, East Hanover, and Livingston. It is a four-lane highway for most of its length with the exception of the easternmost part of the route. Route 10 features intersections and interchanges with many major roads including Route 53 and US 202 in Morris Plains and I-287 in Hanover.
The Gladstone Branch is a commuter rail line operated by NJ Transit in the U.S. state of New Jersey, one of two branches of the Morris & Essex Lines. Gladstone Line trains operate between Gladstone station and either Hoboken Terminal or New York Penn Station.
Interstate 280 (I-280) is a 17.85-mile (28.73 km) Interstate Highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It provides a spur from I-80 in Parsippany–Troy Hills, Morris County, east to Newark and I-95 in Kearny, Hudson County. In Kearny, access is provided toward the Holland Tunnel and Lincoln Tunnel to New York City. The western part of the route runs through suburban areas of Morris and Essex counties, crossing the Watchung Mountains. Upon reaching The Oranges, the setting becomes more urbanized and I-280 runs along a depressed alignment before ascending again in Newark. I-280 includes a vertical-lift bridge, the William A. Stickel Memorial Bridge, over the Passaic River between Newark and East Newark/Harrison. The highway is sometimes called the Essex Freeway. I-280 intersects several roads, including the Garden State Parkway in East Orange and Route 21 in Newark.
The Morristown Line is an NJ Transit commuter rail line connecting Morris and Essex counties to New York City, via either New York Penn Station or Hoboken Terminal. Out of 60 inbound and 58 outbound daily weekday trains, 28 inbound and 26 outbound Midtown Direct trains use the Kearny Connection to Penn Station; the rest go to Hoboken. Passengers can transfer at Newark Broad Street or Summit to reach the other destination. On rail system maps the line is colored dark green, and its symbol is a drum, a reference to Morristown's history during the American Revolution.
Broadway is a neighborhood within the city of Newark in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is located on the west bank of the Passaic River, in Newark's North Ward, east of Forest Hill and north of Seventh Avenue. The neighborhood extends from Interstate 280 to Belleville. The term "Broadway" has only come into use recently, most Broadway residents simply refer to their area as part of the North Ward. The street itself "Broadway" was called "Washington Avenue" until the early twentieth century. Today, the area is predominantly Italian American, Puerto Rican and Dominican, with a growing population from other parts of Latin America. The New Jersey Historical Society was located here from the 1930s to 1997. The neo-classical Mutual Benefit building was constructed in the Broadway neighborhood in 1927. The district has many old brownstones in various states of repair. There are high-rise apartment buildings overlooking Branch Brook Park.
The Morris and Essex Railroad was a railroad across northern New Jersey, later part of the main line of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad.
Morristown station is a NJ Transit rail station on the Morristown Line, serving the town of Morristown, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It serves an average of 1,800 passengers on a typical weekday. Construction of the historic station began in 1912 and the facility opened November 3, 1913. A station agent and waiting room are available weekdays. The station's interior was featured in Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" video in 1984. Just west of the station, at Baker Interlocking, the Morristown and Erie Railway branches off the NJT line. The M&E's offices and shop are here.
Eisenhower Parkway, also known as County Route 609, is a county highway in Essex County, New Jersey, located in the municipalities of Roseland and Livingston. Eisenhower Parkway ends at South Orange Avenue in Livingston near the Livingston Mall and just north of Interstate 280 in Roseland. Eisenhower Parkway was planned to continue further north to Route 46 in Fairfield and further south to Route 24 in Chatham, with the latter extension to be called Triborough Road. An abandoned cloverleaf interchange exists where Triborough Road was to intersect Route 24. Several proposals have been generated to complete the northern half into West Caldwell.
Roseville Avenue was a transfer station on New Jersey Transit's Morris & Essex Lines in Newark, New Jersey, United States. The station was built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1903 as part of a project to lower the tracks below the road surface to eliminate grade crossings. It serviced Newark's Roseville neighborhood. It once had two tracks on the Lackawanna mainline and two low-wall platforms, with an additional platform along the Montclair Branch. The station remained in service during most of the 20th century, until New Jersey Transit closed the station on September 16, 1984.
County Route 510 (CR 510) is a county highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The highway extends 29.58 miles (47.60 km) from North Road (CR 513) in Chester to McCarter Highway in Newark.
The Rockaway Valley Railroad, also known as the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Railroad and informally known as the Rock-A-Bye Baby, was an American short line. Built from a connection with the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) mainline in White House Station, New Jersey, the railroad traveled north to Watnong, New Jersey, a total distance of approximately 25 miles. The railroad was constructed between 1888 and 1892, predominantly to ship peaches from orchards that were abundant along the southern part of the line, but it also carried passengers and other freight along the entire route. The Rockaway Valley Railroad (RVRR) ceased operation in 1914 and was abandoned in 1917. Much of the old railbed is now part of a rail-trail.

The Montclair-Boonton Line is a commuter rail line of New Jersey Transit Rail Operations in the United States. It is part of the Hoboken Division. The line is a consolidation of three individual lines: the former Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad's Montclair Branch, which ran from Hoboken Terminal to Bay Street, Montclair. The Erie Railroad's Greenwood Lake Division, a segment from Montclair to Mountain View-Wayne, originally ran from the Jersey City Terminal to Greenwood Lake, NY, and the former Lackawanna Boonton Line ran from Hoboken to Hackettstown, New Jersey.
The Morristown and Erie Railroad Whippany Water Tank is located in Hanover Township, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The water tank was built in 1904 by the Morristown and Erie Railroad and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 2006.
Warren was a former station for the Erie Railroad on its main line and on the Mahoning Division's first subdivision between Cleveland and Pymatuning station. Along the main line, the next station west towards Dearborn Station was Leavittsburg, while east towards Pavonia Terminal was Niles. The station was located 585.7 miles (942.6 km) from Pavonia Terminal and 412.8 miles (664.3 km) from Dearborn Station.
Morristown & Erie Railway is a short-line railroad based in Morristown, New Jersey, chartered in 1895 as the Whippany River Railroad. It operates freight rail service in Morris County, New Jersey and surrounding areas on the original Whippany Line between Morristown and Roseland, as well as the Morris County-owned Dover & Rockaway Branch, Chester Branch, and High Bridge Branch. The M&E also operated the Maine Eastern Railroad from November 2003 to December 31, 2015.
Essex Fells was the terminus of the Erie Railroad's Caldwell Branch in the Essex County community of Essex Fells, New Jersey. Located at the junction of Oak Lane and Chestnut Lane in Essex Fells, the station was also a connection to the Morristown and Erie Railroad, which continued west through Roseland towards Morristown. The next station north from the Essex Fells station was Caldwell heading northward to Great Notch in Little Falls, where the line connected to the New York and Greenwood Lake Railroad.
Corning was a major station along the Erie Railroad, located on the Susquehanna Division of the main line. Located originally in downtown Corning, New York, the station first opened on the line in January 1850, with the completion of the New York and Erie Railroad from Piermont in Rockland County to Dunkirk in Chautauqua County. The first depot at Corning was built in 1861 and located at the intersection of Erie Avenue and Pine Street in Corning. The station lasted at this location until 1952, when construction of a new track bypass of Corning began. The newer depot opened on November 21, 1952. This new station was located at the junction of West Sycamore Street and North Bridge Street on the north side of Corning.
Newfoundland is a railroad station in the Newfoundland section of Jefferson Township, New Jersey. It was built by the New Jersey Midland Railway in 1872 and later served passengers on the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad (NYS&W).
