"Come Out and Play" is a 1994 song by the Californian punk rock group the Offspring. It is the seventh track on their third album, Smash (1994), and was released as its first single. Written by frontman Dexter Holland, the song was the second single to be released by the band, after "I'll Be Waiting" (1989). It is considered the Offspring's breakthrough song, as it received widespread radio play, with first attention brought by Jed the Fish of KROQ-FM, and reached number one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, bringing both the band and the punk rock genre to widespread attention.

Produced by Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly, it was recorded at Nada Recording Studio in New Windsor, New York, in May 2002. In the band's 2006 documentary Life on the Murder Scene, the band describes the painful conditions Way was in during the recording of the album due to a toothache, causing the album to take longer to record than planned.

Forever the Sickest Kids is an American pop punk band from Dallas, Texas. The band first signed with Universal Motown Records and released its debut album, Underdog Alma Mater, on April 29, 2008. The band's second album, Forever the Sickest Kids, was released on March 1, 2011. Universal Motown Records was later shut down in 2011 and the band was left unsigned for over a year until signing to Fearless Records in late 2012. The band released its third studio album, J.A.C.K., on June 25, 2013. In an Alternative Press article, the band was placed number one underground band of the "22 Best Underground Bands".
The Cab is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their debut album, Whisper War, was released on April 29, 2008. They have been called "The Band You Need to Know 2008" by Alternative Press magazine. They were also featured in the '100 Bands You Need to Know in 2010' by the magazine and were one of the three bands featured on the cover page, along with Never Shout Never and Hey Monday. Their second album Symphony Soldier was released on August 23, 2011, with its first single "Bad" released to iTunes July 11, 2011, and announced by the band on July 18. The Cab funded the entire album by themselves and left their Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance label, self-releasing Symphony Soldier. AbsolutePunk gave an extremely positive review with a rating of 95%, calling the album a "masterpiece". The pre-orders in the band's webstore featured eleven packages, ranging from $10 to $9,999. Symphony Soldier is digitally available on iTunes, and only available as physical CDs from the band's webstore. The band's latest work, an EP titled Lock Me Up, was released on April 29, 2014. They have not released any new material since 2014, leaving the future of the band uncertain.
Taking Back Sunday is the fifth studio album by American rock band Taking Back Sunday. After returning home from touring the Soundwave festival in February and March 2010, guitarist Matthew Fazzi and bassist Matthew Rubano left the group. They were replaced by guitarist John Nolan and bassist Shaun Cooper, both of which were former members of the band. Later in March, the band began writing material for their next album in El Paso, Texas. The following month, demos were recorded with the aim to release a new album later in the year. Recording began in October with producer Eric Valentine at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood, California and finished in January 2011.

The Dollyrots vs. Bowling for Soup is a 7" split EP released by pop punk bands The Dollyrots and Bowling for Soup, in which the bands cover each other's songs, with The Dollyrots covering Bowling for Soup's "High School Never Ends" and Bowling for Soup covering The Dollyrots' "Because I'm Awesome." It was limited to 1,000 copies that were signed by both bands and sold through Bowling for Soup's online store as well as during Bowling for Soup and The Dollyrots West Coast U.S. tour in August 2011. A digital version was released at a later date with two additional bonus tracks. The digital version was released in November 2011 and included a Bowling for Soup cover of The Dollyrots' "Rollercoaster" and a Dollyrots cover of Bowling for Soup's "Almost."
