Bedouin is a music production and DJ partnership based in the United States, consisting of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe. As multi-instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters, and music producers, they blend their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and international experiences into a genre-defying sound. [1] The duo has released music on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, All Day I Dream, Circoloco Records, Ultra, Sony and their own imprint, Human by Default. [2] They have also collaborated with artists like Virgil Abloh, Rony Seikay, Guy Gerber, Black Coffee and Guy Liberte among others. [3]

Career highlights

Bedouin has received recognition for their work, including two appearances on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix in 2016 and 2020, [4] [5] and being named Mixmag's "Breakthrough Artists" in 2017. [6] The duo were nominated for Best Deep House DJ at the DJ Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019. [7] [8] [9] They have performed at notable events and venues like Burning Man, Coachella, Tomorrowland, Art Basel, Ushuaïa, and Wynn Las Vegas. [10] [11] In 2017, their cover of Pink Floyd's "Set Control for the Heart of the Sun" was personally endorsed by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. [12] [13] Their Ibiza residency, Bedouin Saga, was awarded "Best Night in Ibiza" by DJ Awards in 2019. [14] In 2022, they recorded a hybrid live set in Petra, Jordan for Cercle, which was awarded as one of the best sets of 2022 by an EDM magazine. [15]

Ferry Corsten is a Dutch DJ, record producer and remixer. He is well known for producing many pioneering trance tracks during the 1990s–2000s under his numerous aliases, including System F, Moonman, Pulp Victim and Gouryella. In recent years, he has shifted to a broader electronic music style, playing everything from progressive house to uplifting trance; and hosts his own weekly radio show, Resonation Radio. Corsten routinely plays at events and festivals all over the world including Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, and many others, and has been consistently ranked among DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, having placed at rank 5 in 2004 and 2005, 6 in 2006 and 2008; and most recently at 53 for 2020.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 and 2:00 a.m. UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run of nearly 30 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule. It is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Uroš Umek, better known as DJ Umek or simply UMEK, is a Slovenian dance music producer and DJ. Musically active since 1993, he is the owner of several techno record labels. In 1999 he founded Consumer Recreation and Recycled Loops, the former of which he co-runs with Valentino Kanzyani. Recycled Loops formed the sublabel Earresistible Musick in 2001, and in 2007 Umek founded the large techno label 1605.
