Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF) is an annual event held in Beirut. The festival screens films made by women or centering women, and tackles issues that particularly affect women, including gender equality, sexual identity and domestic violence.
The festival was founded in 2016, with the theme "Women for Change", [1] with the goal of Women's Empowerment. [2] The symbol of the festival is the Phoenician goddess Tanith, who is a mother goddess who rules the stars and sky, symbolizing fertility and life force. [2] The festival prime award is the "Tanith of Beirut".
Tanit was a Punic and Phoenician goddess, the chief deity of Carthage alongside her consort Baal-Hamon. She was also adopted by the Berber people.
BWFF is organized by the Beirut Film Society NGO.

Zlín Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival for Children and Youth is an annual festival of children's film in Zlín in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1961 in the former Czechoslovakia, the festival gradually gained international attention. The audience consists mainly of children and youth from the Zlín region, but also university students and adult visitors who come to late-night screenings with appropriate dramaturgy, as well as film professionals from around the world.
