The Hockey Hall of Fame is an ice hockey museum located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dedicated to the history of ice hockey, it is a museum and a hall of fame. It holds exhibits about players, teams, National Hockey League (NHL) records, memorabilia and NHL trophies, including the Stanley Cup. Founded in Kingston, Ontario, the Hockey Hall of Fame was established in 1943 under the leadership of James T. Sutherland. The first class of honoured members was inducted in 1945, before the Hall of Fame had a permanent location. It moved to Toronto in 1958 after the NHL withdrew its support for the International Hockey Hall of Fame in Kingston, Ontario. Its first permanent building opened at Exhibition Place in 1961. The hall was relocated in 1993, and is now in downtown Toronto, inside Brookfield Place, and a historic Bank of Montreal building.
Kārlis Skrastiņš was a Latvian professional ice hockey player. Skrastiņš was drafted by the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League in 1998 as a defenceman and spent twelve years in the league playing for the Predators, the Colorado Avalanche, the Florida Panthers, and the Dallas Stars.

The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were an ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They played in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, at the Cincinnati Gardens. For their existence they were the affiliate of the National Hockey League teams, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Detroit Red Wings.
Catherine Michelle "Cammi" Granato is an American former ice hockey player and one of the first women to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2010. Granato was the captain of the U.S. women's hockey team that won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics. She is the younger sister of former NHL player Tony Granato, and a graduate of Providence College. Granato played hockey for Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The Belarusian national ice hockey team is currently ranked 11th in the world by the IIHF in their 2018 World Ranking. The team is controlled by the Belarus Ice Hockey Federation. Arguably, the greatest moment in Belarusian hockey history was the victory over Sweden in the quarter-finals of the 2002 Winter Olympics, where the team ultimately finished fourth. Belarus has 4,968 players in their national pool. At the 2005 and 2006 World Championships their coach was Glen Hanlon, who brought the best-ever result in the IIHF World Championship – 6th place in 2006. He was succeeded by Curt Fraser, who led the team in 2007 and 2008. Hanlon returned to coach the team for the 2009 World Championships in Switzerland.
The Las Vegas Thunder was a professional ice hockey team competing in the International Hockey League. The team's home rink was at the Thomas & Mack Center. They began play in the 1993–1994 season, folding on April 18, 1999. The demise of the franchise was precipitated by the refusal of UNLV officials to negotiate with team owners regarding a new agreement to continue playing at the Thomas and Mack after the 1998-'99 season. Without a facility that was suitable even for temporary use, the Thunder were forced to shut down.
Ruslan Albiertavič Saliej, better known as Ruslan Salei, was a Belarusian professional ice hockey player. Salei played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, who selected him ninth overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
Andrej Alehavič Kaścicyn, better known as Andrei Kostitsyn, is a Belarusian professional ice hockey forward for HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The media have nicknamed him AK-46, a play on his initials (AK) and player number (46) in reference to the Soviet AK-47 rifle. His younger brother Sergei plays as a teammate and captain for Dinamo Minsk. Both Andrei and Sergei played together on the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

The Ukrainian Hockey Championship is an annual ice hockey award and national title, bestowed to the ice hockey organization judged to have the best performing team in Ukraine, founded in 1992. Prior to the 2015–16 season, the league playing for the title took the name Ukrainian Hockey Extra League. In 2016, the new Ukrainian Hockey League was created instead.
Keramin Minsk(Belar. Керамин-Минск) was an ice hockey team from Minsk, Belarus. They played in the Belarusian Extraleague until 2010 where the team disbanded due to financial reasons.

Mikhail Yuriyevich Balandin was a Russian professional ice hockey player. Balandin played for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) at the time of his death. Balandin had also played for Salavat Yulaev Ufa, HC Lada Togliatti, HC CSKA Moscow, Mytishchi Khimik, Mytishchi Atlant and UHC Dynamo in Russia. Balandin won a silver medal with the Russian team at the 2000 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
