The Bella Coola Music Festival takes place in the month of July in Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada. [1] [2] It offers a diverse line-up of music: roots, rock, world, blues, folk and more. [3]
The Festival began in 1998 when a small group of volunteers felt it would be a joyful way to get the valley's residents together and the Discovery Coast Music Festival, as it was first known, was born. Since then, the festival has grown into a widely respected event, incorporating many well-known performers into the line-up, while encouraging local talent and youth to participate in all aspects of its production. The Herd is an Australian hip hop group formed in Sydney. The group employs a "full band" format and is recognised for its live shows. The Herd is composed of Ozi Batla, Urthboy, Berzerkatron (MCs), Unkle Ho (beats), Traksewt, Sulo, Toe-Fu (guitar), Rok Poshtya (bass) and singer Jane Tyrrell. The band's songs often feature politically oriented lyrics. The group has been largely inactive since 2013, reuniting for select performances.
Highway 20, also known as the Chilcotin Highway, and officially dubbed the Alexander MacKenzie Highway, is one of the two main East-West routes in the Central Interior of British Columbia. The Chilcotin Highway runs 457 km (284 mi) from Williams Lake westward through the Chilcotin region to North Bentinck Arm, an inlet from the Pacific Ocean where the town of Bella Coola is located. As of 2006, all but 57 km (35 mi) has been paved, mostly for expediting the removal of timber from the region, which, like most of British Columbia, is afflicted with pine beetle infestations. Paul St. Pierre was a journalist and author in British Columbia, Canada. He was the Member of Parliament for the riding of Coast Chilcotin from 1968-1972. He was defeated in the 1972 election by New Democratic Party candidate Harry Olaussen in a tight three-way race. He was especially known for his popular fiction recounting adventures and quirks of life in the Chilcotin-Cariboo, and for a regular column that appeared for many years in the Vancouver Sun.
The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is a music and arts festival, held on the Belladrum Estate in Kiltarlity near Inverness, in Scotland. It is normally held at the start of August. Founded in 2004, the festival has rapidly grown in popularity. The festival has sold out in advance every year since 2008. The capacity of the 2019 festival was 20,000.
Hagensborg, originally named Kristiania, is a small community in the Bella Coola Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Its census population in 2006 was 248. The Bella Coola Valley was already the ancient home to the Nuxálk people when European explorers arrived. Norwegian settlers from Minnesota and Wisconsin arrived in 1894, and under the guidance of the Reverend Christian Saugstad established a colony. The colony was named "Hagen's Borg" after Hagen B. Christensen, the first storekeeper in the area and postmaster from April 1, 1896 to October 14, 1910..

He rose to fame as a singer during the summer of 2003, when he released his debut single, "La canzone del capitano", which became a hit in Italy. Teria Yarhere is a Nigerian rapper from Delta State who performs under the name M Trill. He released his debut studio album Number One in 2008 along with a follow-up mixtape entitled Ladies and Gentlemen (2010). That same year, he won the "Best West African Act" at the Channel O Music Video Awards for his single "Bounce". M Trill has been featured on songs with Timaya, Cyrus da Virus, Ruggedman, Slim Burna, 2shots, A-Q, Kraftmatiks, Modenine, Godwon, Evaezi, and Pyrelli among others. Clarence Peters is a Nigerian music video director, filmmaker and cinematographer. He is the founder and CEO of Capital Dream Pictures, a production company that specialises in the realms of the performing arts, film and video. He is also the founder and CEO of Capital Hill Records, a record label home to Chidinma, Tha Suspect and Illbliss. He was ranked 2nd on Channel O's list of the Top 10 Most Visionary Music Video Directors. In 1998, he was involved in a Mobil-sponsored music video for a documentary on AIDS. He directed 40 episodes of the TV series Everyday People. Peters has directed music videos for recording artists across an array of genres and generations, including Darey, Durella, and Wizkid. In 2012, he shot the music video for Shuga's theme song, which was recorded by Boneye from P-Unit, Banky W., Wizkid and L-Tido. Peters has also shot a good number of documentaries, TV commercials, short films, and TV features. In April 2014, Absolut Vodka honoured him for his creativity.
DigiTour Media was a touring and social media festival production company, known for producing the world's first social media tour. DigiTour events are held in venues such as theaters, amphitheaters, and parking lots or fields upon which the stages and other structures are erected. Bråvalla Festival was a Swedish four-day music festival that was held annually. It was Sweden's biggest and most popular music festival. It was held at Bråvalla flygflottilj outside of Norrköping. The inaugural season of the festival was from 27 to 29 June 2013. It headlined Rammstein, Green Day and Avicii in additions to tens of artists and acts. The second season was held between the 26 June and 28 June 2014 and was headlined by Iron Maiden, Kanye West and Kings of Leon. The third season of the festival was held between 25–27 June in 2015. Oluseye Desmond Sodamola, professionally known as DJ Spinall, is a Nigerian Disc Jockey, Record Producer, songwriter, Label Executive, and Media personality. He first gained prominence in 2004, while working as a radio DJ at Raypower 100.5 FM. He later joined Industry Nite where he promoted underground talents at the weekly platform. He was the official DJ to Wande Coal while he was affiliated with Mavin Records. DJ Spinall created a style edge to his outfit known as TheCAP, tracing his roots back to his culture. TheCAP, which fans tags as "TheCrazyAzzParty" has since then been his brand power and identity.
Lynette Jean Bowtell is an Australian country singer-songwriter from Kleinton, Queensland. She has won Nine Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards of Australia, she was a songwriter and singer for the trio, Bella (2002–2006) and from 2015 has been a member of Australian supergroup, Bennett Bowtell Urquhart, alongside Kevin Bennett and Felicity Urquhart. Bowtell has also had a solo music career.
Sandra Nankoma, previously known as Sandy Soul, is a Ugandan recording artist, singer-songwriter, composer, actor and performer of Afro-soul and jazz music. She is well known for her single Kaddugala from her debut album Ye'nze for which she won an award for Best Female Artist in African Inspirational Music at AFRIMA Awards in 2018.
Lost Kings are an American DJ duo consisting of Robert Abisi and Nick Shanholtz, based in Los Angeles. The duo gained popularity beginning in 2014 through their official remixes for artists such as Imagine Dragons, Krewella, Halsey, Vance Joy, Echosmith, Rihanna, and Tori Kelly, and through their original progressive house music. Managed by Disruptor Management, a joint venture at Sony Music Entertainment, they signed to Disruptor Records/RCA Records in October 2016.
Nuxalk Radio is a non-commercial community radio station broadcasting from the Nuxalk village of Q'umk'uts' in Bella Coola, British Columbia. It was founded 21 June 2014 and broadcasts on 91.1 FM and online. The Alkw Media Society administers Nuxalk Radio with a board of directors from the Nuxalk and Bella Coola community.
