Benandsebastian is a visual artist duo that was formed in 2006 by Ben Clement (born in 1981 in Oxford, England) and Sebastian de la Cour (born in 1980 in Copenhagen, Denmark). [1] The duo's elaborately crafted sculptural and installation art works have been shown in Europe, in the United States, and in Japan. benandsebastian live and work in Berlin and Copenhagen.

Artistic Practice

benandsebastian's artworks use the language of architecture as a means of addressing the relationship between the psychological spaces of the mind and the physical spaces of the body and its surroundings. [2] The duo's exhibition, Phantom Limbs, which took 'the presence of absence' as its common theme, showed at The Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen, Denmark from November 2011 until April 2012 [3] and was on display at Trapholt Museum in Kolding, Denmark, until April 2013. The exhibition also features a variety of Chinese and German porcelain.

Mie Olise Danish artist

Mie Olise Kjærgaard is an internationally exhibited Danish artist. She attended the St. Martin's School of Art in London from which she received her MFA in 2007, where she was one of the 4 finalists in the BBC television arranged Four New Sensations. In 2009 her work was the subject of a one-woman exhibition entitled "The Exquisite Capabilities of The flying Carpet", at the Skive New Museum of Contemporary Art, in Skive, Denmark. Olise is living and working in Copenhagen. She paints large scale paintings of women, seen through a woman's eye and view herself as a feminist.

Cathrine Raben Davidsen, is a Danish artist, who lives and works in Copenhagen. Raben Davidsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. She received her MFA in 2003 from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. From 2005 to 2014 Raben Davidsen was represented by Martin Asbæk Gallery.

Steen Ipsen is a Danish artist known for his contemporary free form ceramic work. Starting his artistic career in the 1990s he is now well known internationally and has been quoted by the Danish Arts Foundation as "one of the most gifted ceramic artists in Denmark". His work combines the clean, simplistic form of traditional Danish ceramics with bright colours, creating a new hybrid form. He generally creates his art in series, his works follow on from a common theme which is usually based on natural occurrences such as crystallisation, cell division and cell fission. Aside from his artistic career, he has also worked as a lecturer for the Danish School of Design (Copenhagen) from 1996 to 2004 teaching design basics as well as the ceramics art form.

Trapholt is a museum of contemporary art and design located in Kolding, Denmark. It opened in 1988 and was previously named Trapholt Kunstmuseum but its increasing focus on the broader arts lead to its shortened name.
