Rahim Muhammad, known by the stage name Beneficence, is an American rapper from Newark, New Jersey. [1]
Beneficence has been active as an independent emcee since the early 1990s. His vinyl single "Sucka's Brevity" / "Hostile Life Style" was recorded in 1991 and released in 1994. [2] The follow-up single "Thin Line" / "Low Profile Man" was released in 1998. His debut album, Eye of the Storm, was released in 2004. His sophomore album, Vocal Sport, was released in 2006 – it featured Mr. Len of Company Flow and El Da Sensei and DJ Kaos of The Artifacts, among others. His third album, Holders of the Key, was a collaboration with Swiss producer DJ LKB, and dropped in 2009.
2010 saw the release of the single "Heavyhitters" / "Royal Dynasty", following which Beneficence released two albums, Sidewalk Science (2011) and Concrete Soul (2012), on his own label, Ill Adrenaline Records, with guest appearances by Diamond D, Roc Marciano, Lord Tariq, and Masta Ace, among others. In 2016, Beneficence released the album Basement Chemistry. The album received critical acclaim, including a rating of 4 out of 5 stars from Pop Magazine, which called it "a body of work that builds on the foundation of what hip-hop truly represents". [4]
In 2021, Beneficence released “My Way”, a single featuring Phantasm of the Cella Dwellas and Masta Ace. The single was produced by Confidence, and was revealed to be from Stellar Mind, a collaboration album between the two. A second single, “Illest Mic Pros” (featuring Keith Murray), arrived within a few weeks of the first.
In April 2021, Beneficence announced the publication of Concrete Soul: The Memoir and Making of Ill Adrenaline Records, a memoir of his experiences in the music business.

Daniel Alan Maman, professionally known as the Alchemist, is an American record producer, DJ, rapper and songwriter. He began his music career in 1991 in the hip hop duo The Whooliganz under the moniker Mudfoot, along with now-actor Scott Caan. After rising to prominence in the late 1990s, as a close associate of Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep, he went on to produce for many of hip hop's leading artists in the 2000s, and has been hailed as one of the genre's leading producers. M.O.P. is an American hip hop duo. Composed of rappers Billy Danze and Lil' Fame, the duo are known for their aggressive lyrical delivery style. Although they maintain a strong underground following, they are mainly known for the song "Ante Up", released on their Warriorz album in 2000, and with which they have had mainstream success. The group has frequently collaborated with DJ Premier. Fame sometimes produces under the moniker Fizzy Womack, and has produced a significant number of tracks on all M.O.P. releases since 1996's Firing Squad, as well as work for other artists including Kool G Rap, Teflon and Wu-Tang Clan.
Duval Clear, known better by his stage name Masta Ace, is an American rapper and record producer from New York City. He appeared on the classic 1988 Juice Crew posse cut "The Symphony". He is noted for his distinct voice and rapping proficiency, and has influenced several MCs.
Right About Now: The Official Sucka Free Mix CD or simply Right About Now was released by Talib Kweli in November 2005 and is generally considered a mixtape. However, some people regard this release as an official album because of its availability through commercial sites and its release of two singles. It also lacks the DJ overlays often accompanied by mixtapes which makes the CD read more like an official album. This CD is notable because, although a low-key release, it features upcoming members of Kweli's record label, Blacksmith Music. The album sold 16,000 copies in its first week of release, debuting at #113 on the Billboard 200.

Malik Turner is an American rapper and producer from Fayetteville, NC, who came to prominence in the 1990s as a rapper. He is known for his politically aware, socially conscious lyrics, and sample heavy production. Malik is the other half of the duo, "Malik Turner and DJ Master Jam". The duo was formed in the early 1990s when Malik and DJ, Master Jam were college students at Cheyney University. In 1992 Malik and Jam, along with two friends, Allen "Nadir" Muhammad and Milton "Fahyim" Sharp formed "Son of Man Productions". In 1994, with the support of Guru from Gang Starr, and DJ Sean Ski, Son of Man Productions released the classic independent single, No More 9 to 5 and The Last Days of Wax on their own label "Mpacked Sounds". The classic record was mastered by mastering engineer Tony Dawsey. Mpacked Sounds focused on a more independent label and artist ownership position in their music, during a time when their peers were interested in seeking record deals from major labels. At the time Billboard noted the lead single "No More 9 to 5", for having top 40 single potential and hip hop magazines like Rap Sheet and Rap Pages featured Malik and Master Jam as a rising duo to look out for. Projects with Mpacked Sounds led to opportunities to share the stage with the likes of Brand Nubian, the Fu-Schnickens, Black Sheep, Poor Righteous Teachers, Da Bush Babees, The U.M.C.'s, Rakim, and others.
