Bernadette Seacrest is an American vocalist born in San Francisco, California.
In 2001 Seacrest began singing for The Long Goners, a Rockabilly band originating in Albuquerque, New Mexico that shared the stage with Hank Williams III, [1] Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, Jonathan Richman and Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash. Bernadette left The Long Goners to form Bernadette Seacrest and her Yes Men in 2003. The band released their debut album "No More Music by the Suckers" [2] in 2004. After touring extensively throughout the United States and France the band released a second album in 2005 "Live in Santa Fe."
In 2006 Bernadette Seacrest relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to form Bernadette Seacrest and her Provocateurs with guitarist/songwriter Charles Williams of The Bonaventure Quartet and bassist Kris Dale of The Quark Alliance. In 2007 she was awarded the critic's pick Best Atlanta Vocalist [3] in Atlanta's long established alternative press publication Creative Loafing. The new group released their debut album "The Filthy South Sessions" in December 2009. The album was well received in a number of published reviews and was followed by two more tours in France.
In 2016, “Lust and Madness” was released under the band name “Bernadette Seacrest & Kris Dale” on CD, digital and vinyl formats. The album includes duet performances with Francine Reed and Mike Geier, both of whom have made occasional guest performances at live shows. Musicians include Kris Dale, Marlon Patton, Noah Thomas and R L Martin.
In 2021, “My Love Is” was released in digital format. [4] A special edition 12” 45rpm vinyl features Seacrest on the cover in the titled work “Majorette” - created by surrealist photographer Joel-Peter Witkin in 2003. Musicians include – Kris Dale, Darren Stanley, Pat Bova. The track “Vampire” was written by former bandmate Pat Bova.

Magnapop is an American rock band based in Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 1989, the band has consistently included songwriting duo Linda Hopper as vocalist and Ruthie Morris on guitar. Magnapop first achieved recognition in the Benelux countries of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg through the festival circuit and have remained popular in Europe throughout their career. After modest success in the United States in the mid-1990s with the singles "Slowly, Slowly" and "Open the Door" and a series of albums produced by Michael Stipe, Bob Mould, and Geza X, the band went on an extended hiatus due to the dissolution of their record label. They returned with a new rhythm section in 2005 on the Daemon Records release Mouthfeel. The band has continued to perform and record since this reunion and have self-released two more albums. Magnapop's musical style is noted for blending the pop vocals and melodies of Hopper with the aggressive, punk-influenced guitar-playing of Morris and her back-up vocal harmonies.
Creative Loafing is an Atlanta-based publisher of a monthly arts and culture newspaper/magazine. The company publishes a 60,000 circulation monthly publication which is distributed to in-town locations and neighborhoods on the first Thursday of each month. The company has historically been a part of the alternative weekly newspapers association in the United States.
Injected was an American hard rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. Active from 1995 to 2005 and for brief periods until 2016, the band released two full length LPs: 2002's Burn It Black and 2016's The Truth About You.
Van HuntJr. is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He released his debut album, Van Hunt, in 2004, and a follow-up, On the Jungle Floor, in 2006, both on Capitol Records. He won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for appearing on the tribute version of the Sly & the Family Stone song, "Family Affair", in 2007. Bob Jamerson, known as Baton Bob, is a well known local character and costumed street performer, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. Baton Bob used to live in St. Louis, Missouri and in both cities is a significant local personality. He typically marches down urban sidewalks dressed in a tutu and occasionally a tiara. As his name suggests, he almost always twirls a baton as well. His stated goal is to amuse and cheer passersby, to "lift people’s spirits and put a simple smile on people’s faces during their daily routine". The 688 Club was a popular alternative music venue in Atlanta, Georgia, located at 688 Spring Street, near the intersection of Spring and 3rd Streets. The 688 Club opened in May 1980 and closed in November 1986. The club was operated by Steve May. The club was co-owned by Tony Evans, John Wicker, and in its final years by Mike Hendry. Cathy Hendrix served as the club's music director. During its brief lifetime, the 688 played host to hundreds of punk rock, new wave and alternative rock bands, many of whom would later become well known.
