Tranmere Rovers Football Club is a professional association football club based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. The team compete in EFL League Two, the fourth level of the English football league system.

Peter Desmond Farrell was an Irish footballer who played as a right-half for, among others, Shamrock Rovers, Everton and Tranmere Rovers. Tranmere Rovers Ladies Football Club are an English team founded in 1990, based in the Wirral, and affiliated with Tranmere Rovers F.C. They are currently members of the North West Women's Regional Football League Premier and play their home games at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village.
Herbert Michael Cooke was a football manager. He managed Tranmere Rovers from 1912 to 1935, the longest spell of any manager at the club. He oversaw their first Football League match in 1921.
Jimmy J. Moreton was a football player and manager. He joined Tranmere Rovers from Cammell Laird in July 1910. He was switched from right-half to outside right, where he set up countless goals for a succession of Tranmere centre forwards, including Dixie Dean, in almost 500 appearances at the club.
Albert Gray was a Welsh professional footballer who played as goalkeeper for various clubs in the 1920s and 30s, including Oldham Athletic, Manchester City, Tranmere Rovers and Chester. For his country, he made 24 appearances between 1924 and 1938, helping Wales win the British Home Championship three times.
