Jürgen Udo Bockelmann, better known as Udo Jürgens, was an Austrian composer and singer of German origin,of popular music whose career spanned over 50 years. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 for Austria, composed close to 1,000 songs, and sold over 104 million records. In 2007, he additionally obtained Swiss citizenship. In 2010, he legally changed his name to Udo Jürgens Bockelmann.

Its hymn tune, Zahn No. 5385a, was later also used for Paul Gerhardt's "Befiehl du deine Wege" and "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden".

"Mitten wir im Leben sind mit dem Tod umfangen" is a Lutheran hymn, with words written by Martin Luther based on the Latin antiphon "Media vita in morte sumus". The hymn in three stanzas was first published in 1524. The hymn inspired composers from the Renaissance to contemporary to write chorale preludes and vocal compositions. Catherine Winkworth translated Luther's song to English in 1862. It has appeared in hymnals of various denominations.
"Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele" is a Lutheran hymn in German, with lyrics by Johann Franck and a hymn tune by Johann Crüger. It was first published in Crüger's 1649 Geistliche Kirchen-Melodien, and was later adopted in other hymnals, such as the 1653 edition of his Praxis pietatis melica.

The melody was composed by Adolf Lohmann, who wrote a choral setting in 1936. Related to youth pilgrimages to an image of Mary at the Altenberger Dom, it is also known as "Altenberger Wallfahrtslied". The song is regarded as an Oppositionelles Lied, in subtle protest against the Nazi regime.
"Sonnenbrille" is the debut single by Swiss rapper Loredana. The song was written by Loredana alongside Macloud and Miksu, who also handled the production. It was independently released as a single for digital download and streaming on 15 June 2018. Music critics gave mixed to positive reviews of the song, criticising the quality of the lyrics and commending Loredana's rapping techniques. Commercially, it reached the top 15 in Albania, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, while being awarded gold certifications by the Austrian International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and German Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI). An accompanying music video was uploaded to Loredana's YouTube channel simultaneously with the single's release on 15 June.

Kurt Rommel was a German Protestant pastor of the Evangelische Landeskirche in Württemberg, author of spiritual books, and hymnodist. He wrote text and tune of hymns contained in both Protestant and Catholic hymnals.
