Maj Gen Albertus Burger SD SM MMM was a South African Air Force officer.

He joined the SAAF in 1962 and trained as a pilot at Central Flying School, Dunnottar and received his wings at the end of that year. During 1963 to 1965 attended the South African Military Academy and graduated with bachelor's degree in military science from Stellenbosch University. He was an Pilot Instructor at CFS Dunnottar, OC 12 Squadron in 1981 to 1982, Attack Instructor at 85 Advanced Flying School, Air Force Base Langebaanweg, OC AFB Ondangwa in 1982 to 1983. He was promoted to rank of brigadier in 1990. Director Manpower at Chief of Staff Personnel from Oct 1990 to Nov 1992, Chief of Air Staff Personnel from Dec 1992 to Feb 1995. Inspector General SANDF from Mar 1995 to Apr 1996 and finally Chief of Air Staff from May 1996 to May 1998. He retired from the SANDF on 31 May 1998.
